Browntggrr
Voting is conducted through an intrenet poll sponsored by an animal activist group? And is based due to animal deaths? I wonder where the voters get that kind of information. Sounds like a reverse Golden Ticket Award. The unpopular group gets the black mark. How can a person realistically vote for a zoo just due to an animal death. Perhaps the zoo had an excess of older elephants. Internet polls... just have to make you laugh. Disney will just replace them with fiberglass models. All Will Be fine.
Browntggrr
Well that is one way to get off the list. Tough to kill fiberglass.
WooferBearATL
Well that is one way to get off the list. Tough to kill fiberglass. Exactly! Those AudioAnimatronics Look So Lifelike! They have the plastic Tree of Life - Next Step - Plastic Animals. <G>
Browntggrr
For those who have seen Santa Claus 2.... I now have this image of a fiberglass elephant roaming around at Animal Kingdom, just like the plastic "Santa" from SC2. Thanks Woofer... Even though you have a fiberglass axe to grind with Disney, I still believe it to be the happiest place on Earth.

That Disney would snag guests on certain rides and turn them into AudioAnimatronic Figures. Awesome! With the Tag Line..... Happiest Place on Earth.......For Ever...... I thought I also read that it was based on companionship for the elephants and the size of their living quarters.

Reminds me of that episode of the Simpsons at Itchy and Scratchy land when all the animatronics turn on the guests. If I remember correctly, they all went beserk due to camera flashes messing with them. Twisted, yet I find the Disney idea funny and intriguing. Imagine, you could kidnap guests, turn them into the animatronic folks who have to sing It's A Small World Afterall forever! Sorry for the double post. Wanted to comment on two different subjects going on.
Browntggrr
I thought I also read that it was based on companionship for the elephants and the size of their living quarters. And that information was gained from whom? If it was as bad as this online poll makes it sound, why is the AZA not involved?
KIBeast
Good question. Would it be any more legitimate if PETA is involved?
Browntggrr
PETA? Can you get any more one sided? Even they hate zoos. Heck they probably sponsor the site that put out the report.

KIBeast
Sorry, Tggr. I left out the winkey smilie. That post was really dripping with sarcasm. Maybe their information came from someone they know inside the establishment that told on their place of employment. (Was trying not to use the word zoo)
