BoddaH1994 Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Kings Island Resort & Conference Center Employee David Smith has won the 2007 Pinnacle Award for Outstanding Service for his help in taking care of a family in a medical emergency situation. Smith is a resident of the Eastgate area. He has worked for the resort for about a year and also servers as a teacher in the Clermont County School District. Quote
KIBeast Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Any more details about the medical situation? Just curious. It's good to see someone in the CF chain get some props. Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted February 27, 2008 Author Posted February 27, 2008 No, that was based off of a press release that KI sent me. Quote

Cedar Fair does not own, operate or manage The Kings Island Resort and Conference Center. The resort's employees are not Cedar Fair employees. Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted February 27, 2008 Author Posted February 27, 2008 I was sent the press release by Bill Mefford, but the header for it was for Warren County, not Cedar Fair. Quote
Jasper Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 Its really nice to see Kings Island in the news for something good like this. Quote
The Interpreter Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Yet again, let me remind you, the ONLY thing Kings Island about Kings Island Resort and Conference Center is its name...it has nothing else in common with the park...except that once upon a time they shared an owner . . . Quote
KIfan73 Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Wonder why the press release was sent from KI. Quote
The Interpreter Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Because it was a nice thing to do...to recognize a man who performed an act to be admired. And because the place DOES share a name with Kings Island...Note, however, that when the news at the Resort is bad (and there has been some in the past year), the park does not identify with the Resort. Understandably. Quote
italianchef Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 Kudos to David Smith. He is real hero. Quote

The original sentiment was to congratulate the guy. I don't really care if he's CF or not. Quote
