KIfan73
I may be going with the school I work at. I don't teach 8th grade, but it doesn't seem like many of the teachers want to go..."Oh, if I have to, I'll do it"...

marcia
Dear friends When i worked at KI as a volunteer during Math and Science Day all the rides were open so I'm very sure all the rides will be opened that day, but I would call ahead just to be sure that park will be opened as well too. Good luck and have a great time in advance. Take care God bless Marcia
PKIVortex
Usually it was all rides minus Nick U. Not sure if this will change for 2008 since the park is open to the general public every Friday in May, from 10am till 10pm.

Cory Butcher
does anyone have a list of the rides that will be in operation this year at math and science day? Taken from the most updated explanation of Math And Science Days at Visitkingsisland.com: A preliminary list of operating rides is as follows: (subject to change) Firehawk, Delirum, Son of Beast, Drop Zone, Invertigo, Racer, Beast, Flight of Fear, Viking Fury, Dodgems, Eiffel Tower, Vortex, Adventure Express, Carousel, The Crypt, Zephyr, Congo Falls and Flight Deck. **Additional rides may be open as staffing permits. Due to the popularity of the roller coasters there will be longer lines so please do not assign only coaster activities to your students. CoastersRZ
Yes, staffing will be a prime issue, particularly during the first few Fridays in May, and during the earlier hours in the day. More ride would likely open up in the afternoon, as some of the high schoolers get out of school. Since the park is open until 10pm those days, there might be a considerable amount of general public that files in to enjoy the park in the evening. MarketingExpress
When i worked at KI as a volunteer during Math and Science Day all the rides were open Not sure when you worked Math and Science day but all of the years I worked, not ALL of the rides were opened in the morning. Once schools start letting about around 3:30 or 4 you might see more options as far as rides go, but don't go to the park and expect every single ride to be open, especially in the morning. PKIVortex
I remember working math and science day in 2001, and being the only driver for Action Theater, now that wasn't much fun. At least the second one in 2001 we had more employees working, and we actually got to rotate between our 2 rides.
