HELP! planning a dollywood trip

Recommended Posts

hello everyone,

i am currently in the process of trying to plan a trip to dollywood

i was shocked to find out that a one day ticket is over 50 dollars. is this worth it?

has anyone ever been?

i guess my question is dollywood a one day or two day park? a one day pass sis $50.20, but a season pas is only $73?

when compared to a place like Cedar Point (42.95 one day) or even Kings Island (29.99) one day.... is dollywood really worth the gas, food, and lodging?

i had no idea it was going to be that expensive to even get into the park....

thanks for any help!

IF you buy a pass, consider their gold pass...it gets you free parking and discounts on food and merchandise and will quickly pay for itself if you spend much at all. Only one person in your party needs the gold pass, so long as they pay for each item at the registers...

Is Dollywood worth it? Does a cat have whiskers? The park is exceptionally well run, has excellent food, great shows and fantastic rides like Thunderhead and Mystery Mine, Blazing Fury, an eagle preserve, crafts people, a real steam train, fantastic festivals...

Can you afford the gas and lodging? That's really for you to decide. You can save a lot of money by staying in Knoxville instead of Pigeon Forge...but again, that's up to you. There's tons to do in the Smokey Mountains, Gatlinburg, too....

Is dollywood worth it? Yes!

I went to Dollywood for the first time last year. It was a cold day, very cold day... as you can see here.

Even though the rides did not open till later when it got warmer, I was surprised at how many other activities there were. You could go the whole day in the park and not even have to go on any rides. The amount and variaty of shows are wonderful and they are great productions!

Even though the park has only three (big) coasters, you can trust me when I say... three does the trick. I don't play favorites when it comes to coasters; However, Tennesee tornado and Thunderhead are one of the greatest times I have ever had on a coaster.

Thunderhead has won best wooden coaster golden ticket for a reason... it's spectacular!

That loop is huge, it is larger than dollys... ego! But really... this is the smoothest arror coaster I have ever been on.

The food at the park is exceptional and boy was it filling. The park is worth taking a trip to because not only do you get the park, but you see the majestic Smocky Mountains. Also there is plenty do do around the park at Pigeon Forge.
