Well I'm excited. Me and my wife have season passes for Kings Island this year, so we are going on opening day! I already know about all the changes that Cedar Fair made, and I'm kind of excited about that. Apparently they are going nostaligic on us and bringing KI back to its original Glory. Also saw that they have a new ride thats under contruction. But thats not what this thread's about. Just wondering what can I expect. What rides will be open and what rides will be closed? And how busy is it usually on opening day? Already saw that the weather currently is looking beautiful for Kings Mills, OH! Really excited!

Well usually always on opening day you can find donniej at LT. Dans back bar..hehehe

This is opening 2003 at 5pm with the north tolls closed.

In the past, the park tries to get 100% of the rides open. Obviously this doesn't include the waterpark, WWC, etc. You have to remember these rides haven't had riders on them in months so there may be a little bit of downtime here and there.

I'm excited to see what's open tomorrow when I go, it will be more of a dry run day for the rides and the employees.

IF it is in effect a dry run day, is that really fair to the company that bought out the park? Unless of course they got a hefty discount for being the guinea pigs....

yeah I assumed the waterpark would be closed, thats understandable. Most swimming pools don't even open until after memorial day. I think I read May 24th or something for the waterpark.

I'm going back on my birthday (june 2nd) to enjoy the waterpark. Speaking of which are they going to change the name back to "Water Works" since they are retheming the place to its 1980's form? Thats really what I'd like to see. I was never crazy about the "boomerang bay" name. Sounds like a six flags waterpark lol

After dealing with people who had "one too many" at the park for four years, I'm gonna limit myself to just one though.
