faeriewench Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 This has kept me amused for awhile now. Orkid, a very dominant female orca in the San Diego park took a birdy down in the middle of the show. I wonder what the trainers' little pow-wow was about. what IS there to discuss? Trainer 1: So, the, uh, "killer whale" hunted down a bird and like, ate it and stuff? Trainer 2: Yup...yep... Trainer 3: *Zzzzzzz* Trainer 4: So...sammiches? Trainer 5: Oh, Hell yes! Seriously, though the one thing that disappoints me most, the trainers missed a great chance to educate the public about the killer whales and their hunting tactics. Because what Orkid and her buddies just displayed there was a natural bahviour. Instead...the crowd was left to go gasp and omg.
