dr_humor
Greetings; long time no post. My wife and I are planning on returning to KI after a few years off (job, new baby, life, addiction to CP, etc.) Therefore, we have not experienced the park post-Paramount. Now, I am aware of most of the changes, but I am wondering how, in your expert opinions, has the experience of Kings Island changed? Specifically, 2 big things come to mind. 1) Food operations; Cedar Fair does not have the grandest tradition here (IMO, CP gets about a D+ in this category). Kings Island, however, always impressed me compared to CP. Any changes? (i.e., service, selection). And 2) How is our dear friend Son of Beast riding? Has it actually improved? My wife has already declared I am riding it solo first. I know opinions on this ride have always been across the board, and while I always gave it at least one ride, I was in the "this ride is just not fun anymore" category three years ago. I dont expect it to be smooth, but I am just wondering if Cedar Fair has actually made any improvements.
The Interpreter
I'll let someone else answer about Son of Beast... As for food, if you had asked me last year, I would have said the service was lousy, the food was worse, and the prices were breath-taking. This year, there have been dramatic improvements in the food quality...and by most accounts, in the food service, though it seems a bit uneven. The prices are even more breath taking than last year, though. If you dig buffets, the one where Wings was is quite good, by most accounts, but is $15 a person...or thereabouts. I highly recommend the grilled chicken sandwich at Outer Hanks....
Cody
Son of Beast is rather boring now. I don't like the changes, They moved the On Ride Photo to where the old loop use to be. The trains are rather un-confy. I felt like i was not secured proply when I rode it. Thats just my 2 cents. As for food, go to wings buffet =) Its all you can eat =D
masonguy21
I would have to say Son of Beast has definantly improved over all. I would recommend it to anyone who asked about. It's by no means the smoothest ride in the park but it's about the equivalent of The Beast in intensity now.

I'm 6'5" and around 300 lbs, and I find the trains to be adequate.
BavarianBeatle
I agree thqt Wings is the best place to eat. It is $15 per person, but you get a salad, nachos, entre, drink and desert. If you bought an order of nachos, a salad, a meal with fries, a drink and an ice cream separately, the $15 price is very competitive. And, if you have kids, they have vegetables and other things that are not just grease and sugar, as well as a wide selection so you don't get stuck paying for something that the kids (and/or adults) don't like and you wind up throwing away. As for SOB, it is a more intense than The Beast and much smoother than the old days. I think its a fun ride and worth riding.....
VortexPKIFreak
I would say that so far, Cedar Fair has been pretty impressive in improvements! Although I haven't been in the 2008 season yet, I've heard many good things that Cedar Fair has done! Last year when Cedar Fair first bought the park, I was impressed to see that they were already making the place better! Adding a new coaster (Firehawk) at the beginning of ownership is quite amazing! Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
dr_humor
Thanks for all who responded: I forgot one question though. With our platinum passes we enjoy early entry into Cedar Point (an hour early). Does Kings Island have this for Platinum Pass holders? I am hoping we get something similar. Browntggrr
Of course SoB improved. It couldn't get any worse than it was.
