Monroe Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 The air show used to consist of hot air balloons, a couple of bi-planes and a DC-3 in a C-53D-DO configuration for the parachute jump platform. All sponsored by Firestone, I know the C-53 still exist and was last seen in 2005, it was stationed in Wilmington. I do not know what happened to the bi-planes or balloons. Here is the plane, this says that it was taken in 1979 but I think it was more like 1989.
