June 27, 200818 yr So they don't plan on being bought, and if they are they will not sell the parks. Curious move. . .
June 27, 200818 yr Author Of course they don't PLAN on being bought, but the company could still be acquired, either in a hostile take-over, or in a higher bid. If the company is sold, all assets will be looked at. Few think InBev, in particular, would keep the parks.
June 27, 200818 yr Author Very, very unlikely. Any buyer would want to operate the parks as profitably as possible. I doubt the parks would sell merely for the real estate value, though this is not the ideal time to be selling theme parks.
June 27, 200818 yr Author No...if InBev buys AB, which still could happen, they will almost certainly sell off the parks...who would buy them remains to be seen.
June 27, 200818 yr So if AB is sold, InBev will Sell the Parks, they'll have no bidder, and then what?
June 27, 200818 yr Author Never said that...they will have bidders...who remains to be seen. IF InBev even ends up with AB, which is not impossible but far from a forgone conclusion.
June 27, 200818 yr ^Six Flags!!! I wonder if it would be a veteran in the community, Like CF (Just an example. . . ), or someoe just forgoing into the community, a novice in the industry. . .
June 27, 200818 yr Author Cedar Fair is in no position to be doing such an acquisition. Mr. Kinzel has admitted to as much in recent conference calls. As for Six Flags, I doubt they could afford to buy the auction brochure!
June 27, 200818 yr ^I said CF is an Example. . . And The next time at the Donation center, I'll donate a nickel to SF, no matter how peeved it'll make Dick Kinzel. Reminds me of the AE stone gods, but instead of "Now you will pay", it's : "We want you're Nickels! We Want You're Nickels!"
June 28, 200818 yr If they could be bought at a price that they would still be profitable I don't see where they would be in any worse shape than they are now. If they was buying and was going to close them that might cause a problem.
June 28, 200818 yr Author Hmmmm. See what CBS did to the former Viacom parks before they sold them to Cedar Fair....
