Fair Scrambler Malfunctions, Injures People, Lawrence Co., OH

The sad thing is, there are attorneys out there who would claim that tripping over my own two feet was somehow the park's fault.

Yup, in the sad state we are in - you would have had a valid claim for damages.

With no treatment you probably could have gotten a settlement of about $250.

Trip and fall "garbage" claims are filed against businesses every day.

That picture looked kinda bad to me. I mean, as thrashing as that ride is anyway, I could just see the metal shearing off as it did, foot getting stuck, twisted, oh my.....I'd say he was lucky.

And the second you as a claimant make and then settle a claim like that, you get put into a database....

For $250? No way, Hosea. As for me, if I ever have a valid and major complaint I can't settle, I'll sue. Otherwise, I'll suck it up and move on with life. Life is too short as it is...

You're put into the ISO database any time you make any claim what so ever.

Afraid of your social security number getting out?

I can guarantee that any claim rep can find your social security number, birth date, average income and address going back years - all in just 5 minutes.

I guess all that privacy crap is government waste-like a patient told me when I handed him the Hipaa brochure-"what difference does this make? They're still in your business anyway." I agree.

Yep, it was a loose bolt. Since it was at the Lawrence County Fair, he'd probably already encountered at least several nuts loose that night, so he knew what to do! :)

i was gonna ask what you meant by that since that hits close to where i grew up, but after being away from there for 27 years, i know exactly what you meant.

actually, the southwestern corner of ohio has its share of loose nuts.

And any private investigator can do that as well for a rather nominal fee.

There are so many tracking data bases out there. Decision Net, ISO, etc.

You can find out where a person lives, what their home is worth, how many vehicles they have, just about anything you want.

Unless you want to drop off the grid and have no mail or phone; all this information is going to be available.
