So, I have never rode the Flight of Fear because I was really scard but no all of a sudden I really want to ride it. The only thng is I am really scard and I have no idea what to expect. I know it is inside, in the dark and launches you, but what else. I heard it has flashing lights, is that true?

You get launched 0-54 mph, with 4.5 G's. After the launch you go into a cobra roll, then an Immelman loop. You make alot of banked turns, and low to ground 'head choppers' and go through a corkscrew near the end. It's a pretty good ride, and you should give it a try.

Okay, what exactly does the launch feel like.

I know on the Backlot, it is sorta a launch, but is the Flight of Fear launch worse than that one?

The launch is stronger than Back Lot Stunt. As long as you keep your head against the back, you will not have any problems. The coaster is a joy even the first time you ride it. My daughter rode it for the first time 2 years ago, she was scared at first but was smiling in the picture at the end of the tunnel. What he means by brake is: there is a brake mid course just before the cork screw. They use it for timing and to slow the train to an acceptable speed for the cork screw. It is actually a nice brake, even with it dark you can make out certain things. Make sure you post here after you ride it, so we all know how you did. Have fun.

BLSC's launch is a little more gradual compared to FOF. As others have said, when you hear the ride ops say "clear" make sure your head is all the way back against the head rest and you are facing forward. The launch itself is quite a rush, but very entertaining.

The rush of the launch is similar to the Drop Tower, only horizontal, and more instantaneous. It is more fun than scary, and you might find yourself laughing more than screaming (because of the first-time experiences of the elements within the ride, which are fun.)

Its also a much more enjoyable ride now with the new restraint system. You will love it, keep your head back once you strap in and you will enjoy every second.

There is no immelman. It's just half of a cobra roll.

I love this ride. I like the dark and all the theming. And yes keep your head back! 0-54 in 4.something seconds is FAST, it's over before you know it. I'm riding it tomorrow!

Now that is a perfect example of an oxymoron.

As for the ride itself, it's a blast. But with the decreased launch speed and the mid-course (stop) on the ride, it just isn't what it used to be.

^Agreed. The theming is fun and the coaster has some highlights. The launch is pretty good but it's no Kingda Ka. I rode it a couple years ago and there was no mid course "stop". It was a lot better then. The stop really disappointed me but it won't keep me from riding. Its a fun coaster.

Eh, it depends on which day you ride it. Sometimes all the lights are on sometimes they're all off sometimes there are effect lights on.

You mean an oxymonroe, and I thought that it would have been caught a lot faster than 8hours. Oh well I guess every one is concentrating on other things, I don't know what it could be, but life must go on.

Yeah, the back seats of cars on Flight of Fear are actually ridable....

Yeah, the stop kind of ruins it for me. It's still fun but I would far prefer it without the MCB.

...and with the launch speed back to what it's supposed to be. 0-60 in 4 seconds has not only a much better ring to it, it also has a much better ride to it as well. Not to mention you don't feel like you're going to valley right before the top-most point of the ride.

Speaking of valleys, has anyone experienced a roll-back on either Flight of Fear or Backlot Stunt Coaster? Backlot rolled back with me one day. I found it to be quite an interesting rush, though I preferred the whole ride.

I'll have to remember that when I ride KK. And the backseat on FOF is where I ride, so I quite agree.

Haha, my first coaster was FOF! It was funny because, had never been to KI before I went with my friends. I was terrified of coasters. I didn't know what to expect because it was in a building. They played me like a fiddle! Long story short I've rode it 19 since then. Ride it you'll love it!!! You'll be nervous while in line, don't worry every one is on thier first ride! Even me!
