tigellinus
I wonder if the SEATBELTS will be able to accomidate the larger guests. It makes me mad at CP to see people that for most part are in decent shape, and maybe with a football build get rejected b/c of a stupid belt length or slack! I wonder if Bohemeth has had any issues? No, D-back won't have seatbelts, and actually, you'll be fine on D-back based upon your description!! The B&M hypers are all about the belly...a bigger lower body half won't matter that much at all since the seats are so deep. It's nothing at all like an Intamin. Now, 300 lbs might be pushing it, but even like 250-275 should be ok! I can't recall really ever seeing a 'walk of shame' on a B&M hyper!? Beast1979
I've sat in Dominator, a B&M floorless, Mantis, a B&M Standup (I don't think that counts), and Raptor, a B&M Invert. All of them were very comfy, but why do people prefer Hyper seats over every other one?
diamondback2009
Diamondback is no MF but ki can and will make better coasters then MF and TTD.
Beast1979
I am simply amazed at how many people compare Diamondback to Millennium Force. They are barely even comparable. Diamondback will be, IMO, probably just as good as Millennium Force. Or much worse. It just depends on what you want from it.
The Interpreter
Bologna. I've ridden Millennium Force. And I have ridden fantastic roller coasters like Nitro and Goliath at Six Flags Over Georgia. The latter two are not in any way comparable to Millennium Force. You see, the latter two are air filled festivals of speed and giddy delight. Millennium Force is big, it's tall and it's fast. And, in my humble opinion, with the sole exception of the second hill, it's relatively boring. No, I don't think Diamondback will have much in common with Millennium Force, other than being very, very popular...
gigacoaster2k
I am really feeling defensive right now, but I will try my best to be as nice as I can and get my point across. To each his/her own. I've heard: Millennium Force is forceless, Maverick is too jerky, TTD isn't worth the wait, Magnum is too rough, Wicked Twister is too unstable, Raptor is a B&M therefore it's junk, Firehawk is a Vekoma therefore it's not worth riding, The Beast is overrated. Someone is eventually going to have a complaint about Diamondback. I don't go to a car show and start loudly going on about how I think Pontiacs are worthless pieces of garbage in front of a Grand Prix owner. It takes everything I have to bite my tongue when people start trash talking a coaster that is a big favorite of many people, and makes me wonder if they are just trying to start a ruckus out of sheer boredom. That isn't going to stop anyone who loves them from riding the abovementioned coasters. Less people who wait in line = happy Angie.
The Interpreter
Enjoy, Angie! And I know the feeling. You see, I adore Rolling Thunder...a coaster that you can count on the fingers of two hands all the people who truly adore it. Terpy, who has almost said too much about who he is now... I really like the Backlot Stunt Coaster. Some make fun of me because I like it, but I don't care. It may be a small coaster, but it has a lot of elements packed into one ride. At first I thought it was a kiddie coaster, but it took me by surprise. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face after my first ride, which by the way, was front seat. Its really a pretty fun ride. the initial launch and the spiral up the helix are what really make the coaster fun! I like the launch, the overbanked turn, the hill after it (airtime!), the pitch black indoor part and when it dives UNDER the queue. BSC is some crazy fun, I'm glad someone agrees with me, I'm 26 and still enjoy the ride!
Cormaster
Yeah I'm 28. I rode the thing the first time last year with low expectations but was actually pretty pumped when I got off of it. I told my wife "Thats what Adventure Express SHOULD of been!" The whole ride is pretty cool. Its kind of like the Mad Mouse from hell! Beast1979
Everyone has one ride they love who everyone else hates, for me thats, uhh, i don't know. A lot of people love The Beast, Kentucky Rumbler, Blue Streak, Millennium Force, Magnum XL-200, Top Thrill Dragster, and Maverick.

It's just that I hardly ever ride it because the capacity is poor so the line always seems to be too long and in my opinion, it is not worth a 35+ min wait. Beast1979
I think BLSC is nice, but it always has a longer line then it's worth, so I never ride it. Besides, with it's nearby neighbors Vortex, Beast, Crypt, and Diamondback, it's kinda overshadowed.
gigacoaster2k
Is my avatar showing up as Wicked Twister to you guys? I changed it, but I still see my old sunset photo of CP (that photo I took myself).

sheikra_rocks
TOPIC STARTER: I can tell you one thing, B&M hypers are AWESOME! If you can ride SOB and like it you will LOVE Diamondback!
JAHill
I'm so hyped for DB and I cannot wait. If I see anything that can relate to it I freak out. I was on the bus this morning and a truck with giant gray steel poles drove by and I kept jokingly stating it was DB's Supports and people kept believing me. I am soooo frikkin' hyped! Justin_M17
I'm psyched to ride it tbh. It's taller and faster than SOB, and chances are it's a hell of alot smoother. That's a win in my book.
ZukoGirl
I actually did some research and I found out that while DB is taller and faster than SOB. The first drops on both of them are about the same SOB Height: 218' Drop: 214' DB Height: 230' Drop: 215'

The Interpreter
Yes. Friction losses are far greater on wooden coasters. Steel wheels against steel track causes greater friction loss than does polyurethane on tubular steel. The trains are also a contributing factor, but how is beyond the physics skills of this philosopher, not to mention I don't really have enough data...but I would think the Son of Beast trains would be more aerodynamic than Diamondbacks'. Beast1979
I was going to point out the fact that the 80 mph mark is supposedly reached at the bottom of the second hill, which sits in a 30 or so foot ravine, which means that even though it's only 230', the difference in elevation gets to almost 260'. Although the Wheel thing could be a contributer too. We'll never know, that was interesting about the wheels. I just learned something new! fanofki
Does the first drop go right over the pathway? It appears that way on the videos.
Beast1979
From the Videos and Pictures it looks like the Drop Will go over the Midway and the bottom will be right about where the Crypt's Outdoor Que is. So that'll make for awesome photo op's for Diamondback!
noraleesmom
I dont think Im nervous at all actually! I just cant wait to ride it!
