Kings Island open year round

And was abandoned as market studies showed it unlikely to succeed. Similar developments further south, such as in Nashville, did indeed fail. Smaller lifestyle centers, like Polaris in Columbus, are actually an outgrowth of earlier efforts.

Actually, plans were dropped by a previous owner of the park.

Said previous owner had no interest in the project as they had little interest in Winterfest, as well.

I remember riding Millennium Force a few years back when it was around 45 degrees on a windy Halloweekends night and it was awesome, but the wait in the cold was not. Frozen tears on the face are fun.

Yeah sure....

Put me in line to ride white water canyon around the middle of January!!!!

dude that would be fun. like seriousally

How bout a New Years eve party? Lets say by then the construction of Diamondback is complete. Instead of watching the ball at New York fall we watch Diamonback come to life with its first run.

Personally, I have never been a human popsicle, but I'm not so sure I would want to be.

Technically, The Great Wolf Lodge is open year round.

It is kepy at a balmy 80 degrees and the rides stay open all year!

They have a great New Year's party, also.

I am in the minority. I enjoy the off seasson. Nothing like building excitement for the opening of the park during the long winter months and nothing is better than that first visit to KI in the spring when all the off seasson changes can be seen first hand. So bring on the off seasson.

You're probably right. I've always wondered if KI enthusiasts would last as long as they do if the park was open year round. This way it's almost like a whole new product when it opens in April, so it's something to look forward to. Additionally, one could say that the park keeps some of its magic by being closed to the public primarily during the times when it's converting to Haunt or building a new attraction.

OK Ryan the way you phrased that made me appreciate the Offseason.

I wonder how Walt Disney World, Busch Gardens Africa, and Disneyland keep their magic and a consistent fan base? (This is rhetorical, I know what you meant, just putting it out there)

You wonder how? A lot better than Islands of Adventure has! Finally, that place is again putting in new attractions and new investments. To be frank, it had become quite stale and somewhat shabby of late, but only by Florida theme park standards...

I'm pretty sure that DisneyWorld touches up the paint (among other small things) in their park every day.
