I've never done a trip report before, but here goes.

As i've done for the last 3 years, my friends & I always rent a cabin & spend the weekend for Fearfest. (This year i'll be doing it again this week also.) We arrived at the campground late Friday evening. I know the park was closed...but could here some of the announcements on the P.A., so I don't know if they were having a company party or what...another odd thing was I heard the "testing" siren in the middle of the night once...not sure what time it was because I didn't have my watch on.

Saturday morning rolls around and we get to the park a little after 10. The weather is nice...although I knew that would add to the crowd eventually. We all rode Delirium first...then again because the line was short. (Over the weekend I rode it about 8 times...I do like this ride!) After Delirium I talked everyone into riding SOB. (We are always gun-shy to ride it because we seem to get a good ride, then beat up the next.) I convinced everyone that thanks to this board I now knew the secret..."Don't sit on the wheels"...we did this and had a decent ride. The lines were not bad at all during the day and we rode about every major ride easily. The only early Halloween attraction we hit during the day was the train ride...geez the music they played on there was awful! We did not get out at any of the stops because we were easily too old for them, but I will say that it was nice of PKI to have something for the little kids. The later it got though the longer the lines became...which was to be expected.

The Fearfest attraction's lines were pretty long....but no more than usual. I took everyone's advice and we hit Route666 first. We were in line 45 minutes before it opened, and still waited almost 2 hours...but I must say it was "almost" worth it. It was a fun time. We all seemed to like the "flying" ghoul the best. That was the only Halloween thing we went to on Saturday...instead we just rode the usual rides because the lines were shorter.

Nothing really interesting about Sunday. The weather was once again nice...and the lines even shorter than Saturday. We walked right onto Tomb Raider which was cool...and Delirium was a walk on!

I would say that the only complaints about Fearfest that I would have would be that there was NOT ENOUGH FOG!!! I am all for PKI trying to appeal to a wider age range...but it seemed to "happy" after dark. More things were lit up and you could hardly find any fog.

Also, I did not think that the Halloween decorations were nearly up to the usual Kings Island standard. The fountain area was no where near it's former glory. Corn stalks are okay...but not when they are used in every area.

So, am I dissapointed...maybe a little...but not enough to be looking forward to this weekend! (And I live hours away from the park!)
