This is pretty far from the original trip report, but something I thought was worthy of sharing. It's somthing you might want to check out if your ever in the majestic city of Indianapolis.

My family and I try to fit this in to a busy schedule at least once a month during the summer months. Without further adue I bring the pictures to you.

We walk from the zoo which is convienently located our home. Crossing over White river bridge.

There is an abundece of wildlife in White river, and the once a while reported sighting of a crocodile.

The Art museum of Indianapolis is extrordinary, but the canal boasts a wide variety of artwork itself.

These peices represent something from other counties across the state.

If artwork is not your thing thats fine. You have to love this though. It's a steam powered clock that plays back home again in Indiana from whistles atop it on the hour. Very cool.

When your ready to sit, and float down the canal rent a paddle boat. It's quit a work out but a fun one.

If that's not enough just remember it also hosts the NCAA hall of fame the zoo, and White River state Gardens.

Well just wanted to show you guys what we do in between our trips to KI hope you enjoyed.

Indianapolisman, thanks for sharing! I love seeing stuff like this, even if its not an amusement park trip report (and to all members: not all trip reports have to be about parks :) ) I probably haven't been to Indianapolis since 1998 when the Pacers still played at market Square. From what I have read, and from talking to Avatar who lives in downtown Indy, is that Indy seems to have a booming downtown right now. Hopefully Cincy catches similar momentum as it builds its new riverfront park!

Thanks again for sharing!

Thanks for reading.

No nothing confirmed. A couple years ago a police officer said he spotted a croc in the river an investigation was done with no results.

Yes this city is booming more cranes than I thought were possible (Terpy). With 2012 the Super Bowl approaching I won't reconize the view as it is now.

Avatar lives in a great historic area which is noted as the oldest part of the city.

Here is a few more pics recently taken from downtown. remember them as they are, it's going to change.

Indianapolisman – thanks for the report. You know when you live and work around Indianapolis we forget how beautiful our city can be and what all it has to offer. I try to get around the canal a few times a year. Thanks more the photos and the nudge to slow down a bit and enjoy the beauty around me.
