Plus if I was in LA SF would be the last place I would want to go for Halloween, not when Knotts and Universal are putting on shows that blow away the rest of the country, and if Im out with a youngin Disney is working their magic. In short, I would never choose to go to SF over any of the three.

Fright Fest in general blows, the haunts are not free with admission at most parks, they only have 3-4 haunts, and you are still at a Six Flags at the end of the day.
