HHN Florida, Frightful, And That's A Good Thing

Recommended Posts

I just returned home from my HHN trip and found it to disappointing compared to years past. They must have been holding up Express Pass lines or sold too many as I didn't have time to get all attractions done before closing.

I think The Brian Brushwood show was the worst show I have ever seen at any park. I wish there was a way to get the time back that was wasted watching it.

Over all it was still the best thing around, it just didn't come close to the Halloween Horror Nights that I have attended in the past.

Now see, most people that I've talked to have been pleasantly surprised with this year's event. Of course, this is my first year being able to attend so I have nothing to compare. You are right, its bar none the best that is out there. While I don't get a lot of scares from the event, mainly from the fact that they have to heard the masses through like cattle, but I'm absolutely amazed at the stories and detail that go into the it. The whole Fractured Tales scare zone and Scary Tales house are absolutely brilliant, IMHO. Dead Exposure was very good for us as well, its the only one that has gotten to me a bit. I *still* have yet to do Reflections of Fear, but by all accounts it seems to be the worse of the bunch. Creatures was great house. I personally am a fan of all the scare zones, especially The Skoolhouse. Hands down, though, my FAVORITE part of the event is the Bill & Ted show.....best theme park show I've ever seen :-)

Captain I am glad I seen this thread, I did get everything done but the magic show because I did ride the attractions that where open. I agree KI and Universals is like comparing apples to oranges, and I keep thinking with everything I was hearing about HHN that they where either having a bad night or KI really stepped up their game. Don’t get me wrong I had a blast at HHN and would go again in a heart beat but I think KI and HHN both have some things better that the other. I am trying to upload pictures and videos so I can do a trip report of both and try to compare the two as best as I can. I will just say for the money KI is a great deal, but being able to get front of line pass is a must at Halloween park events.

I would never do that unless I was like Todd and could go back often but for us one time visitors per season No Way! The walk to the Haunts where like a mile long them selves. I did like not haft to wait in line to go through the scare zones though.

The lines haven't been that bad. My first night through, which was a Thursday, we did most of the attractions and saw the Bill & Ted show.....even took a few spins on Mummy. Most of the lines we have been encountering on weeknights have been less than 30 minutes......with Dead Exposure and Reflections of Fear having the longest waits of the night typically. The one thing I like about the event is Universals text message idea.....you can have the wait times for all the attractions sent directly to your phone. Its definitely helped us plan our nights and maximize the most of the evening as we typically don't even get there until closer till 830 or 9. I agree though, the queue lines are something to be seen.....I would be scared to see them all filled, but it has happened!

I was there Thursday 10/9 and recall waiting 15-20 minutes for Dead Exposure and Reflections of Fear with a Express Pass . I don't remember waiting much before with Express other than Castle Vampyr back at HHN 14. It was less than 10 minutes.

I have went to both 12 pm and 2 am closing and seems that a little more cost for the 2 am is worth it.

We were there on 10/9 as well. Dead Exposure got up to around 45 minutes but, like most things, greatly died down as the evening progressed. Ha, now last night.....darn! You can tell Halloween is fast approaching, the Park was packed....75 minute wait for practically every house....even the rides had lines of 45-60 minutes. Still had fun, going again Sunday 8-)
