Jasper
Thanks KI for a great 2008 Season! Is there any chance we will see a lookback at the 2008 Season Video like there was for 2004? I would love that.
RailRider
Well its officialy the offseasson. Let the insanity begin. 2008 was a great year, but 2009 has promise to be even better. I like the direction of ye ole amusement park.
The Interpreter
I never, ever thought I'd say this, but me, too! I doubt we would have ever seen a major coaster install by CBS. I know we would have not seen the entertainment we have seen under Cedar Fair. Have they done some things I very strongly disapprove of? Sure. But, overall, Cedar Fair has been an overall positive for Kings Island...very much so, actually.
RailRider
Let me see if can gauge it accurately I would say. 85% positive 15% negative Does that sound about right? Althought DB for me takes it to about 90-
The Interpreter
I guess it all depends on who is doing the rating...one must remember, we cannot compare what we had to what we have, but what we would have gotten to what we are getting. Nothing good could have come from further CBS ownership...another year or so under them and the place would have been a financial disaster of Hard Rock Park proportions, in my opinion. RailRider
I think CBS is happier to be in the business of licensing their brands and let more knowledgeable folks run the show. Very true Terpy, the future of KI would not be so bright if things would have gone unchanged.
The Interpreter
Don't forget most of the brands that were in the park were not CBS's, but rather Viacom's. The real irony is that when the Viacom assets were divided between CBS and Viacom, CBS ended up with the theme parks as Viacom didn't want them (who knew?), and CBS was supposedly the low growth side of the house, and theme parks were seen as a mature, low growth industry. Then CBS decided to sell, Cedar Fair paid top dollar at the top of the market. I bet many at Viacom were less than pleased at that particular ending...and now Viacom is entering the theme park business, mostly by licensing, and mostly overseas. Beast1979
Do you know all this off the top of your head Terpy?
The Interpreter
I have studied the industry for many, many years. I hope I've learned a little something, and I willingly share what little I know. So many have given me so much over the years, it is the least I can do. I am also a voracious reader...and post to many sites, not just this one...
Beast1979
Sometimes you guys astound me. I'm glad I'm getting into the industry at a young age so I have much more time to learn this stuff.

italianchef
Thank you Kings Island for a great season. My family and I greatly enjoyed Nickelodeon Universe and Howl-O-Fest. And I enjoyed the big rides without my family - as my 4-year old son is too young for them. It was a great season.
