The Interpreter
SFOG opens February 28. YES, February 28. SFKK opens April 25. The park hours are still relatively short at KK. Most weeknights, the park closes at 7! 8 on most Fridays and Saturdays....
CoastersRZ
Seems like just yesterday that Kentucky Kingdom was opening in March! They`re not even open for the spring break crowds like they used to be!
Guest rcfreak339
At least it's earlier then last year......But with no Twisted Twins or no mile high falls seems like it will be just like last year.
The Interpreter
And we know this how? Heck, we don't even know the park will open as a Six Flags. Nothing in this current economic environment, given Six Flags debt level and creditor anxiety, is certain. Far from it.
Beast1979
Why wouldn't it open as Six Flags? I don't see them selling off any properties between now and April. They're not in that bad of a situation, are they?
Guest rcfreak339
I sent a message concerning Twisted Twins coming back this summer and This is what they sent me. Ken, Thank you for your comment and interest in Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom. Unfortunately Twisted Twins is not part of our 2009 plans at this time. We are still looking at the area for possible expansion in upcoming years. If you have any further questions please feel free to contact me at pshortridge@sftp.com. Have a wonderful Holiday Season. We look forward to hosting you during our 2009 season, opening day is set for April 25th. Have a great day! I found this on TPR......Jay why did you have to go? The Interpreter
There is debt that MUST be refinanced before Kentucky Kingdom opens. The company does not currently appear to have the credit rating, credit capacity or available funds to be able to repay that debt. A sale is the most likely possibility, though the b word is also a possibility.
CoastersRZ
And in this current economy, other than foreign investors, I`m not too certain who would be willing to step up to the plate and buy Six Flags. Heck, no one was interested in buying Hard Rock Park for the minimum bid of $35 million. Only time will tell what happens with Six Flags. Given their current stock price ($.33) something has to happen. Their last conference call was also suspicious, as if they were looking into possible ways to increase their stock price and/or raise capital to pay off some of their maturing debts. But things do not look very good at Six Flags right now.
