Mr. Coastermania
Congratulations! Great weigh in. I know exactly what you're talking about with Cedar Point. I went, waited for two hours for Millennium Force and got turned down. Luckily, I had gone the year before and could ride everything. But now I can't ride Millie and TTD, probably not Mantis, maybe Iron Dragon, and a few others. So I was pretty depressed after that little incident. But now in addition to the rides, I have another incentive. My mom agreed to ride TTD with me when I can fit again. there you go.Make sure you hold her to it when you get there. Jaredap88
has anyone thought to take any before and after pictures? those are always fun to look at and end up making you feel great about yourself. (i found a few pictures a while ago from when i was still close to 100 lbs heavier and wow i feel great about myself now)
tigellinus
As Terpy would confirm, there's no better motivating factor than El Toro...to ride that comfortably, there's no messing around...you HAVE to be somewhat slim. With Millie and TTD, you can use "smoke and mirrors" to get on, but for ET it's way more cut and dry. It's the only coaster I've seen to have multiple "walk's of shame" on every train I've ridden on! The Interpreter
Mrs. Grundy would point out those are "walks of shame." And yes, El Toro can a be a tight fit or no fit for many. You either fit or you don't...
Mr. Coastermania
Great, another wild one i got to try. But i am ready. What is the restrictions on el toro?
The Interpreter
It all depends on body shape, especially through the abdomen and thighs. For most, if you are over 38 inch waist, you are not going to fit...
Jaredap88
anyone have any idea what size you need for the rides at KI....so i have a 'goal' to shoot for. i mean i know its different for every ride but is there a decent average somewhere in there?
iChase
I would say a 40 or less waist. Other dimensions I'm not sure of.

I was 5-5 274 lbs with a 48 waist and fit FOF,SOB,Vortex and The Beast. The Beast was much tougher though since the ride op fought to make my lap bar click twice. It all depends on where your size is.Id say 44 or less would work.I think some seats on rides had more space than others.SOB had more room in seats 3 and 4.I could not fit in 1 or 2 because of the seat belts. Hope that helps.
Jaredap88
all that helped..thanks.....and i just woke up after the first day of lifting in a few months and let me just say...owwwwwwwwwwww
The Interpreter
Much depends on how you are built in the thigh area, as well. When I had a 42 inch waist, I barely fit Flight of Fear after it was modified with the lapbars.
Jaredap88
that was the same problem i had

violakat03
pikeman - it sounds like you are down to about the same size as my husband was last summer. He rode everything at Cedar Point (though TTD was a snug fit) and fit in everything at Kings Island. It's sometimes tight and I've had to help him push the lapbar down on Beast and FOF on occasion, but he's never been turned away at either park. I'm a big girl as well (at the beginning of last summer I was 220 lbs at 5'6" tall, I've dropped about 25 lbs since then) and I have fit in every ride I've tried, though like my husband, TTD was close. The ride op actually hooked my belt for me, I think he only did it because I was having trouble seeing what I was doing, but it would have clicked if I'd been able to find where it went by myself as well. The one inch of slack was the hard part - it required a little squishing. My biggest problems is I've got those annoying female child-bearing hips, so all the woodies with their seat dividers are a tight horizontal fit for me. I have to pull the seatbelt out before I sit or I can't get to it. For those of us who are completely sedentary, like I was, a little bit of activity will make an amazing amount of difference. I've lost about 35 lbs total in the past year and a half, and I've made very few changes to my diet. The only thing I have changed is my portions - I get full on half as much food now - but I attribute that to a stomach flu I got shortly after I moved here. I am a lot more active though. I ride my bike whenever the weather is warm, take my dog on walks more often, and do a lot of walking. I take the stairs instead of the escalator or elevator everywhere I go (unless it's more than 2 stories, cause I get winded still). When I'm at school, I don't take the bus around campus at all, I ride my bike or walk everywhere. I park farther away when I go shopping. And most of all, I get involved in activities that require moving. I play DDR as often as I can (I have hard pads for my PS2 so I can play at home) and I started taking ballroom dance lessons once a week. Every little bit counts!! tigellinus
What are you doing to lose the weight?? It sounds like you're moving right along smoothly! The only advice I could offer is the common sense stuff of making the work out's a little harder if you're working out, or cutting back a little more on the sweets and junk food. But FYI, you're more than fine to fit D-back, and any ride at CP even if you ask me. Though, El Toro and Bizzaro (aka S:ROS) might still be tough. Justin_M17
I've been trying to lose weight as well, but for entirely different reasons So far I've dropped from 211 to 193, but I have to be under 181 by August to ship to basic training and my personal goal for myself is even lower. I still have alot of work (and alot of Subway no complaints there) ahead of me.

Ive been on weight watchers for 13 weeks and just eat better types of food. I can still eat any thing i want but i have to track it.I also walk everyday.I may walk 7 to 8 miles a day just pushing carts in the parking lot.Plus i love my wii fit. My main issue though is losing weight to fast.I should be losing only about two pounds a week at the most.Any more might be muscle loss. Im ready for Cedar Point. The Interpreter
Indeed, you are doing well. That being said, you need to get medical advice from your doctor, NOT from Weight Watchers or the internet. And when you are losing that much weight, you really do need to be going to the doctor.

Add some weight training eat just a little more.If things dont slow down im to come in and get checked. The fact that im feeling great is a good sign but again fast weight loss is not good he said. If things slowed down now,id still be happy.50 lbs off has made me feel and move much better.Thats 50 lbs less that The Beast has to haul up the lift.lol. Hope to see you at the island.hurry up opening day.Im having withdraws.
XGatorHead 8904
As of this past Sunday I've lost a total of 15.2 lbs ÷ by 8 weeks = 1.9 lbs per week. Right on track!
tigellinus
What's crazy about your post, Pike, is that I can commonly lose 10-15 lbs. in one week with heavy working out each day!! Though, as a heavy water drinker, I think part of that is usually water weight. What's interesting is due to being busy I haven't hit up the Mason Lifetime Fitness in a while, yet my metabolism has fortunately been crazy fast the past few weeks. I hope that continues!! (or it's not some tape worm! )

Tape worm?never know.lol
