Fifteen Sharks Die at Indy Zoo

Featured Replies

Me and the family go to the Zoo every year here in Indy and have a blast.I love the Shark tank you can stick you hand in and touch the shraks a blast.Very sad sorry sorry to the zoo for the lose.

Looks like the aquarium, jumped the shark, seemingly overnight!

Here PETA, PETA! Here PETA, PETA!

An entire species of shark has been wiped out at the Indianapolis Zoo. They say the cause was human error.

That is horribly sad. :(

The zoo says it'll cost about $1,000 an animal to replace the sharks. That money covers transportation, medical checks, and manpower.

When I first read this I was going to comment about only costing 1K for 15 sharks, and was surprised. Then I re-read it. 15K is definitely not cheap. It's a shame to see that happen, but I'm sure they will learn from this and it will definitely prevent it from happening in the future, probably even at other aquariums.

Anyone been on their Zamperla family coaster??

As someone who lives in Indy it's surprising I haven't (in part since I don't credit 'horde'), but if it's like any of the others then I'm not missing anything anyway (at least AE gets you some lat g's).

It was very disapointing news abut the sharks. I have some pics of my children in front of that tank, from about month ago.
