Hank
Two things..... #1 The boats always back up near the end of the ride where the ducks are quacking and it gets on my nerves, so I hope they change that. #2 When they "updated" the Tiki Tiki Room they ruined it. The cartoon birds (Iago, Zazu and such) take away from the original animitronic birds and not only is the song ruined, but the whole mood of the attraction is ruined. I read in the book Mouse Under Glass that It's A Small World, The Tiki Tiki song, Yo Ho A Piarate's Life For Me and a few others were originally to be in the Mary Poppins movie, with Mary and the children visiting different places, but putting all of those songs in the film would have made it VERY long, so some were cut. Like I said - that's what I read in the book.
goofywdw
I don't really mind the musical changes but don't put in Disney characters. Don't get me wrong I LOVE the Disney characters but this ride is a classic. It sends the message of bringing the world together in peace, not trying to spot our your favorite Disney characters in the different scenes. Yeah the attraction might see some more crowds but don't turn the ride into an spy game.

However I prefer WDW. I still need to get out to DLR though, maybe this summer.

goofywdw
I couldn't agree more with this guy. "What message are they actually saying about the world?" says said Jerry Beck, an animation historian who runs the blog Cartoon Brew. "That you can go anywhere and there will be a Disney theme park?" Yeah the new changes can help bring more attention to this ride but come on.
