The Interpreter
Has anyone heard how extensive the "retracking" actually was? I believe it was said that this is just annual maintenance here. If this is the case, I would say to not expect much after the first month or so of running the ride. GCII is not normally contracted to do annual maintenance by a park the size of Cedar Point. And yes, someone knows how extensive it was. Terpy, just sayin'
fcbaseball
Are you certain that GCII is doing this job? It is not listed as one of their projects on their website...

Beast1979
GCII has been doing rehab on Thunder Road at Carowinds for years. I think they do rehab for other woodies as well....
74Gibson
^Again, information that I saw in the forums with mutliple people adding good reasons for believing it and citing good sources but... still can't find those threads.
Captain Picard
If this was taken around the time it was uploaded I don't see where they did much to it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/8308074@N04/3...57615194672039/
The Interpreter
That is a relatively recent picture...note the crane at Wicked Twister....
74Gibson
Good thought Captain. I see some new wood...not as much as I hoped but. Download the original size and enlarge it a few times. Look at the layers of track around the bottom of the first drop. It looks like several of those layers were retracked, including the bottom of the first drop. Maybe, just maybe it'll be fast again. UnrealNightmare
I have an Idea. If KI were ever too desperate for land and wanted to expand couldn't they get rid of part of the parking lot over by Top Gun? I know people are gonna say then parking would be an issue. So why not turn part of the remaining parking lot into a parking structure. Something sort of like this?
RailRider
Well KI has plenty of land before they would need to consider an option like that. Not to mention the cost of parking structures is insane and I dont think anyone would be bidding to be the first to park in the garage. UnrealNightmare
I was just saying if need be in the future that there are some options like this.

Not to mention the cost of parking structures is insane and I dont think anyone would be bidding to be the first to park in the garage. ^ that's the truth...average cost to build a multi-level parking structure is $10-13K per parking space! I've always been really impressed with how Universal manages parking operations in their garages...whether you're coming in during peak entrance times or leaving at closing, they keep traffic moving and the process is very smooth. (The parking garage I park in every day could learn a few lessons from them )
Beast1979
So I got curious, I wondered if some of the rides being rumored could actually fit in there, so I photoshoped Roar at Six Flags America and Hydra the Revenge at Dorney Park into the area. I tried to find a Gravity Group ride, but none of them were good examples, or rides I could get on MVE Mind you, all of the photoshops were done with Microsoft Virtual Earth from "Birds Eye View", and they were all at 50 Yards out, and I did not re-size them to fit, all I did was rotate them: Here is Roar, the GCII, in the said area: Here is Hydra, the B&M, in the said area: So I think that most of the said rides could easily fit in there, and that they probably wouldn't have to remove anything. The Interpreter
You know, Jeff Gramke was quoted here as saying that ride rotation might be in Cedar Fair's future. Perhaps Hydra: The Revenge IS moving to Cedar Point. I doubt it, but I wouldn't say it is impossible, either.
Beast1979
Little orange flags of fun have been spotted near Cedar Creek Mine Ride. What a shame I didn't get to ride it this year.

Who stated they will be taking it out? No one! Don't jump to conclusions to fast Jackson!
