The Beast in the Theme Park Insider best ride tournament

Featured Replies

There's a NCAA style best ride tournament going on at Themeparkinsider.com. It pits rides from different parks against each other until there is a winner. The voting for each matchup lasts one day. One of today's matchups is The Beast vs. Dinosaur from Disney. The problem with this tournament is that the Disney fanboy army comes out to blindly vote for Disney rides. The Beast needs your support.

how is The Beast losing? i just voted and we're down by like 10%!! there is no-way dinosaur is better than The Beast, I wouldn't even consider that a coaster

just by looking at TPI's forums, it seems like the site is based around Orlando, which suprises me a bit, because there's this other state up north that practically OWNS the thrill-park business (COUGH ohio COUGH COUGH)

That makes me so mad. Although Beast isn't my favorite coaster, It is a thousand times better than any Disney Ride. I strongly Hate Disney With a Passion. The only Disney Park I would go to (If offered free tickets) Is Disney's California Adventure for California Screamin'.

I just voted and The Beast is only down by 1% hurry Beast fans we need to win this!

WOOHOO we're in the lead 52% to 47%!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

EDIT: Sorry, PKIVortex beat me too it.

Well maybe the people who created the site are in Florida, or maybe they prefer some of the rides there. But I do think it is a bit biased. Although, where in the WORLD did you hear that Ohio runs the theme park buisness? With places like Cedar Point, Kings Island, and what used to be Geauga Lake, it can seem compelling to call Ohio the home of roller coasters, which in my opinion may be true, but owning the theme park buisness? Ohio can't afford it! If anybody, Florida or California owns it, and California is broke!

Beast- 54

Dinosaur- 45

IMHO, Dinosaur isnt even a coaster, more so a thrilling dark ride.

Dinosaur is a great highly themed adventure ride. (And my sister and I happened to win Dream Fastpasses on Dinosaur back in September after the preshow, which was really cool!). However, I would prefer to ride The Beast over Dinosaur, simply because of its thrills.

angrybeaver, have you ever been to a Disney park before? They are experiences quite unlike what can be found at Kings Island, Cedar Point, and even Dollywood, although Dollywood does come close to creating the same type of energy as a Disney park. I have been to Disney World two times, once in 2004 and again this past September. I absolutely love the place, and it will only be a matter of time before I make a return trip back there. I would like to visit the original park in CA at some point, in addition to its newer neighbor. But alas, I don`t see that happening any time soon.

I hear you, I'm trying to get my fiance talked into a Disney Honeymoon. I haven't been to Disney World since I was 7 years old. I want to experience that marvel again, if possible.

I totally agree with you, Disney is an AMAZING park, with an AMAZING atmosphere, don't get me wrong, but it feels like its missing something.. Which I think is thrilll on most of their rides INCLUDING Dinosaur, and THAT is why I voted Beast. :D

EDIT: And THAT is why I chose to visit Busch Gardens Africa over WDW during my last trip to Cocoa Beach. (Sorry, off topic)

I just voted for Dinosaur, its a great ride!

You've gotta be joking!

during my last trip to Cocoa Beach.

OMG, another living breathing human being who vacations at Cocoa Beach! While I'm thrilled that there is a fellow human who can share in the pleasure of vacationing on one of the best beaches in Florida, I am slightly dissapointed becuase I like Cocoa Beach the way it is. Empty!

If The Beast wins, then don't forget to vote for him again when his next matchup arrives.

The vote count is still low, so it's not over yet. If you haven't voted, do so.

In my generation, machines and equipment were normally referred to as she. I was not aware that The Beast has every publicly stated its gender...

The Beast is not a machine or piece of equipment, The Beast is a creature, a being of which is unknown to most, terrorizing the woods of Greater Cincinnati. It is a entity, the species unknown, who's soul purpose is but one thing. To Thrill.

I don't think any Girl would do something like that.

Ah, you are young, grasshopper! :)

You also need to see some James Bond movies!

I have, Casino Royale, Die Another Day, Live and Let Die, and Dr. No.

All the girls in those movies do it out of fear or because they are paid to do it by the Brit orginization who's name I can't remember. The Beast does it because it's in his blood.

I just voter and The Beast is up, 59% to 40%. :D I find it very surprising there have only been 243 votes though.

GO BEAST!!

I always refer to The Beast and Son of Beast as "he" and Vortex as "she." Vortex's gender comes from the post here a long time ago about Vortex being "The Beast's girlfriend." The rest of the coasters are undecided and often vary by mood.

I think I have always thought of The Beast as a he...but the only two coasters that I have ever thought of gender was beast and Son of Beast..all the others I have never really thought of lol...but oh well
