TheCryptRaider
So what is it? If you'd like me to add any because they're not on here, just ask. Mine's either B&M or S&S, I loooove B&M's and I looooooove PowderKeg at Silver Dollar City which is made by S&S. Since I have to pick one, (which means you can only pick one too ) its definately B&M. The Interpreter
a. Where's GCII? b. Charlie Dinn and Al Collins (and sometimes Jeff Gramke), not KECO, is usually credited with The Beast.

The Interpreter
Thanks! I have answered the manufacturer poll. My favorite designer would have to be Werner Stengel, though. That man is an absolute workhorse, and it is astounding how many steel coasters he has been involved with!

KIFAN!
I got to say, never before did i appreciate B&M but now w/ Diamondback, I have learned just how amazing they are. So, I voted for them.

gigacoaster2k
Intamin all the way. I love their Drop Towers and their roller coasters. B&M comes in a close second though.
tycoonrebel7188
As much as love B&M's, and I can not wait to ride Diamondback, I had to vote for Intamin. This was an extremely hard vote for me haha, but seeing as I love Millie, TTD, and Maverick I had to go that route.

KIFAN!
Intamin all the way. I love their Drop Towers and their roller coasters. B&M comes in a close second though. See I like Intamin rides (Drop Tower, Power Towe) but I have never been on an Intamin coaster outside CP and the Itamins there (big exception to maverick and TTD) fail to impress me. I cannot see what is so great bout MF besides its (I will admit) amazing first drop and last little bunny hill that you can catch a lil air on. And Wicket Twister just flat out bores me besides the launch and I have tried riding in every seat. I hate to be so negative especialy w/ all of the Intamin lovers here and I know they will hate me now but I do love TTD and Maverick if that makes things better also I am not really one to judge because I have not ridden an Intamin coaster outside CP. tycoonrebel7188
See other than Cedar Point's and Hershey's Storm Runner, I have no other Intamins to compare but I sure do like the ones I have been on, except Wicked Twister That one still makes me dizzy. The Interpreter
I may be the only person around who will say he liked it much better when it was an outdoors bobsled coaster ride! Terpy...what time does the avalanche run?
fcbaseball
GCII's work is very technical and are starting to diversify. I voted for them because I have a great appreciation for their ingenuity and the way their coasters both look and ride. Also just to throw this in, i see their coasters as becoming more prevalent in the future because they are relatively inexpensive and nowadays i believe that this is what parks will be looking for. Try riding MF in the very rear seat, you feel all the forces the coaster has to offer (and don't staple yourself, a lot of people do that and then don't experience much). I always get airtime on those two hills as well. I rode in the very rear, loosened my seatbelt a little and left a little space between myself and the bar. My butt left the seat for 3 straight seconds on the first drop, and left the seat on both airtime hills and the bunny hop.. good stuff. Are you sure you haven't tried WT in the second to last seat on the right? You get a completely unobstructed view looking straight down on the backward launches. crazypkikid2005
Intamin's are great coasters for the most part but are incredibly unreliable. GCII are the best wood coaster builder flat out right now, though I haven't got to experience a Gravity Group ride yet but that will hopefully change this summer. B&M overall as far as smoothness, thrill effect, and reliability win this one hands down. They are simply the Rolls-Royce of coasters. Edit: I also agree with KIFAN! in thinking that Milli is a snoozer outside of its first drop. Backseat or not just not enough airtime on the ride. The Interpreter
..and priced accordingly. There is no equivalent to B and M, but you pay for what you get.
tycoonrebel7188
^^Not every ride can have the 30+ seconds of airtime that Diamondback has. I love airtime but I also love the speed that Millie offers, with the occasional burst of air.
gigacoaster2k
I simply do not see how people don't get airtime on MF.. I always have. Oh well, the less people who want to ride it, that's less time I have to wait in line.
The Interpreter
I always ride it, thinking some day I will figure out why others are so fascinated by the thing....kind of like others always ride Wildcat, trying to figure out why I am so fascinated by it! I feel like Diamond back has a very nice balance of airtime and turns. I'm not saying Milli isn't good, its just not that great either, raptor is still my favorite coaster at CP, even though I haven't rode Maverick yet. Maybe this year. TopThrill
I will have to go with B&M as my favorite, when I rode Griffon two summers ago, I could not believe how smooth it was. And even going though both Immelmann's, the ride did not try to force my head left or right. And I've heard that they have a good track record of first test run's going smoothly. A close second would be Intamin.
tycoonrebel7188
^ When I rode Sheikra in 2006 I could not believe how smooth it was, I can only imagine Griffon is the same, if not better. I really need to make a trip over to Busch Gardens Europe some time this summer or next.
Touchdown
I cant comment in this poll, because I refuse to rank wooden and steel coasters side by side they just are too different for me. Besides I would have a hard time choosing a favorite in either category really, instead I will just mention the manufacturer's whose rides have blown me away on my first ride: -KECO (The Beast) -Schmeck (Yankee Cannonball) -John Miller (Jack Rabbit, still the most intense air I have ever felt on a coaster) -Arrow (Magnum, Lockness Monster [i was 5 and my first upside down coaster]) -B&M (B:TR, Alpengeist, Raptor, Montu, Raging Bull) -Verkoma (X-Flight/Firehawk) -CCI (Villian, Legend, Shivering Timbers) -GCI (HP's Wildcat) -Morgan (Phantom's Revenge) -Intamin (MF, S:ROS SFDL, S:ROS SFNE) -Premier (Mummy@UO) Non Coaster Rides that have blown me away: -MIB Alien Attack -The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman -Tower of Terror -Jurassic Park River Adventure -Dudley Do Right's Ripsaw Falls -Tower of Terror -Splash Mountain -Spaceship Earth -MaXair/Delirium -Haunted Mansion -Proslide Tornadoes (my first being Zonga) -Aquazoid -Summit Plummit -Journey to the Center of the Earth (Waterworld Denver, CO) -Master Blaster @ Schlitterbahn -Hillside Slide @ Schlitterbahn -Raging River @ Schlitterbahn It just does not happen that often to me that Im blown away by a coaster, especially recently as Ive become a "seasoned" coaster enthusiast the last time that happened to me on a first ride was Phantom's Revenge 3 years ago. Heres hoping Diamondback, or Thunderhead are up to the task, they are probably my only two chances at this this year unless of course I catch the opening of the New Harry Potter stuff @ IOA for New Years.
