Disney World has not been the happiest place on Earth for employees this year.

Imagine one day receiving recognition for decades of service from your employer only to be laid off the next day. That is what happened to one Walt Disney Parks and Resorts employee who asked not be identified....

Disney would not comment on whether park attendance was up or down. A source within Disney said that even though the theme parks are crowded, customers are not buying....

Well, let's see. Disney has lowered many of their in-park prices, and is reportedly still suffering per cap declines. Cedar Fair almost certainly will raise its in-park prices, if past is prologue, on the theory, often expressed by Mr. Kinzel, that once inside the park, guests will have to pick up a corndog, play a game or two, drink a Coke (or Pepsi, at Cedar Point), eat a sandwich, buy a t-shirt, etc. We shall see.

Why not? As he pointed out last year, the price will doubtless have gone up only a nickel or two...but then higher prices are pretty easy to swallow when you make over 40 million of those nickels in a year...as he did.
