TopThrill
Ok so I got up at 6:15am, Got the park at 7am, Waited for main gate to open at around 8am. Then waited again for the ERT gate to open around 8:55am. (Ok that's a lot of people, I mean every inch of pavement is covered.) We head to Diamondback. We joined the line at 8:59am. In the line we waited about 45 mins total. By the time we left the main queue, it had started to full up. (I know its hard to see but you can see the line that snaked around all the way back to RiverTown even before 10am. There was even a line to order a on-ride photo, and to pick it up after it had printed out. Diamondback sign and train behind it. Here's the line snaking around Nick-U and down way past that chicken place. And there was even a line for getting your Season Pass. After getting getting off DB we headed to Tower and see what the parking lot looked like, then were rode Racer, Flight Deck,Train. We left the park just past 1pm, my legs were tired and sore, so it really wasn't worth waiting in anymore lines.
bsktgrvy
Nice report. Great pictures. It sure was perfect weather for an opening day.
TopThrill
Thanks bsktgvy, here's pictures I took of the parking lot. Oh and also when rode some other rides, they didn't have much of a wait, but Flight Deck had a line. Also The Racer Red was some what smooth, I really enjoyed it. (Parking lot pictures were taken at 10:56am) Here's the line trail starting at DB entrance. And then it snakes out and round Nick-U, down past that chicken place. Around and down the hill behind Tower, then making a right. Then snaking around past the restrooms, and just stopping around the below the lift hill. Well at 9:30am it was. LongLiveTheSmurfRide
Dude, the person I circled in this picture, it's me. You must have been right next to me the whole time before they let people through the detectors.
Diamondback FOF
Hey. I think I'm probably in one of TopThrill's bottom two pictures, or both. Great pictures both of you. Wow, from the time you got in line at 8:59 and waited 45 minutes, I got in line around 9:15-9:30 and had to wait 2.5 hours. Oh well, it was well worth it and then I rode it two more times and didn't wait more than 30 minutes for either.
TopThrill
Smurf, Thanks I guess we were right next to each other, I remember looking back at all that people that just keep coming. That might have been the biggest crowd at the front gates at eight in the morning. I could not even believe the mob at the ERT gate. Diamondback FOF, yeah I remember my dad first telling me that the line for the ride was going all the way around the corner, and going right back to RiverTown. When we got into the station we decided that what ten more mins wouldn't hurt to get the front seat. Were was the line at when you joined it? (The bathrooms by BLSC). The exit I am talking about is the one the goes down to the path between BLSC and DB, as seen in the above picture. From there, it was about 2.5 hours. actually, it was probably a little further back, just beyond the bend in the fence.
Ashers
I love the pictures you got of DB! I still can't believe how crazy that line got though. ~Ash
TopThrill
Thanks Ashers, yeah the pictures I took on The Beast side of DB turned out great with the sun behind me. Diamondback FOF, I'm so glad I got there early, I would not like to wait in that line.
