Father's Day: Tickets or pass?

I wasn't sure if this would fit in the off topic forum or the Kings Island forum, because it's both. Well anyway!

My dad loves Kings Island. I am upset with myself for accidentally using my free ticket to get in on Saturday (the ticket I was going to save for him), and I know there's no way for me to get one back, so now I have to spend money thanks to my stupidity. I need opinions on what to get him for an early Father's Day present.

The company he works for usually has their picnic at the Picnic Grove, but this year they are complaining of costs, so he isn't sure if he will get tickets from them this year or not. I am not sure if he will want to do ERT or not, and I am not sure how many days he wants to go this year, he usually only goes once or twice. We always ride together to KI, and I'm a platinum passholder, so parking fees aren't an issue.

Platinum wouldn't make sense because I can get him an $8 discount on admission with my CP coupon book, and we will probably only go to CP once together this year.

So I am debating between a two-day ticket and a gold pass. Would a regular season pass be worth it? What do you guys think?

^^I'm not even sure how much Gold Passes or two-day tickets are, but if the Gold Pass is the same as a 2-day ticket, then I think it's pretty obvious!!

Btw, you did give me a good idea that KI tickets for fam and friends this summer would make a great gift, especially since so many I know I haven't been to KI in a few years, and it's a good way to finagle my way to another KI visit!! :D

Well it's entirely possible that there's a discount if you buy two days worth of tickets that I don't know about. But even if there is, I would still go with a gold/season pass. Chances are the difference in price is negligible compared to the extra usefulness from a pass.

In the future, you will look back and see nothing is more precious than quality time spent with your family. Get him the pass. For him. For you. Then, when you can, say "Dad, let's get the money out of that pass...come to Kings Island with me!"

Terpy, who knows these things, and wishes he could have done that back then

a 2-day pass is $47.99 and the gold pass is $99.99... for now. prices will go up in late-May. plus, on the second day you go to the park and decide that you do want to go more times with him, just go to the sales windows with your two day ticket and simply upgrade it to a pass. You just pay the difference.

Lol, he definitely has a way with getting his point across in a way that makes it very difficult to argue with.

Wow, I have the exact same situation! On my ride home I was looking through my stuff and was like "Hey, what about the free pass I was supposed to get?" and then it hit me (and no Terpy, the pass did not physically attack me!)! I feel soooo stupid! lol. Anyways, maybe you could get him a regular season pass, or do what iamba said, that's a good idea too.
