April 29, 200917 yr The funny thing about these types of stories is that it's safe to say that probably every substantial theme park operator in the world has looked at the BEC parks (and most capital investment firms too as far as that goes...) Just like they all looked at the Paramount Parks when CBS announced their sale as well...that's just how things work. That's pretty common in any industry when a major (or even minor) player goes up for sale...they run these stories like it should be a huge shock that GE/NBC-Universal has looked at BEC's assets. Of course you're going to "look"...even if you don't have serious intentions about putting up a bid. Since GM has announced that they're putting the Hummer unit up for sale, I have no doubt that pretty much every major car manufacturer in the world has kicked the tires (so to speak). I'm just confused at why business reporters have to write these things up like they're real news. (Scratch that--I was a journalism major--I know exactly why they do it ) It wouldn't surprise me that if SF hasn't even looked at BEC--even though the chances of me buying it are about as likely Edited April 29, 200917 yr by jzarley
April 29, 200917 yr I think anyone will be able to make it if they pay the prices that was said when this all started.
