TR:TR "anticipated" recovery

The park "anticipates" that TR:TR will have Lara and Guests busting tombs again this weekend, however, the ride is also pending further adjustments. This is straight from David Mandt, and I believe it to be a sign that Tomb Raider will not regain operation for a couple of weeks. I personally have grown to hate the word adjustments in the same sentence as Tomb Raider: The Ride. It seems the entire TR franchise is late this year, with Angel of Darkness pushed back and the ride in a state of disrepair. I know this is not news to most people but I figured I might as well lay it out there for people who didn't know, or don't remember the ride's track record. To answer Inraider's question on what happened with the ride, it seems in another post by (I can't remember their name)they said that after waiting for the ride to reopen, they boarded and the ride started, and was close to finishing it's cycle, but the vehicle itself broke down, and swung until lights came on, and the ride was manually brought into the station and the restraints were opened with an air compressor. So it seems the ride is suffering some extreme technical issues. Fortunately, this is the only ride in the entire park, short of the backward's racer and secrets of the lost temple, that was not in operation, even all water rides were up and running. So, except for TR:TR, we should give PKI a standing ovation for bringing the park back online even though they had 3 brand new rides on their hands.

Well thats good. I am happy that it will be back up and running soon! and finally someone answered why it broke down. I was going to go this weekend, but my friend called as said he couldn't go. I just hope it stays open until the next weekend, so I can ride it!

I have a link to a website devoted soley to TR:TR, It is: Tomb Raider

One question fella's. I heard a "rumor" that Tomb Raider is getting re-themed. Has this happend? Or will it happen? Should it happen?

Personally, I feel the park will never "re-theme" TR:TR until the building and ride system is used for something else in about 30 years. Of course, if the TR movie chain continues, like I think it will, I believe it could stay around for longer than that. As for extra theming from the cradle of life movie, don't count on it. TR:TR is themed and completely based around the original TR movie and the Illuminati, which is impressive considering the ride came out less than a year after the movie released in theaters. And yes, the Huss rep. was working on TR, I seen him drive his rental car back to it Sunday. There were trucks and cars flying in and out of there all day. However, I knew it would not open because they kept the shutters closed. That generally indicates it's broke beyond simple repair, in my experiences atleast. I would however expect that lighting effects and more special effects will be added to the ride, in addition to possibly theming the ramps and walls of the ride room, not to mention the que ceiling, in 2004. At the Delirium photo shoot, Inraider got his wishes confirmed that TR:TR will be longer and much more intense for 2004 by a man who designed it, I believe. I believe he claimed he didn't have the time this year, which is ok because they simply just need to get it to stay running at this point.

Yes thats correct, I didn't see his name tag, but someone made a bad comment about the ride being too short. He replied with:

" we were going to do it this year, but our time and funds could not support it. So, it will be done for next year. We haven't completely hammered out the details yet, but we do know that it will have a whole rotation ADDED to the original. This rotation will be the escape part of the ride and will involve at least two more flips and added effects. making it about a minute to a minute-and-a-half longer and we are hopping to bring it up to a 5 on the extreme level ( the highest level at pki, only 3 rides have it ). The ride will be longer, but even more than that, it will be MUCH more intense"

-again I didn't get his name, but I then asked (just for the sake of clarification) "what did you do on tomb raider?"

he replied with:

"I designed the ride sequence and effects"

So there you have it!

I also agree with RyanA, lets focus on getting the ride FULLY OPERATIONAL before we start adding stuff to it.

Actually there are currently 4 rides that are a 5 rating, SOB, face/off, Beast, and Flight of Fear.

This is just me, but hanging 77 people over boiling lava upside down for nearly a minute as steam and water is shot in their face as they scream bloody murder doesn't warrant a 5, what will? And is TR:TR the first Giant Top Spin in the world? If so, that's an awesome fact I wish I had knew before. Thinking about it, I guess TR:TR isn't really that stressfull, unless you have sinuses. In the fall my head feels like a drum riding that. Ouch.

sORRY GUYS, the old topic was open for about 15 mins. before the ADMINISTRATORS deemed it "not concrete and not worthy". WHATEVER, its still up above if you would like to read it. I apologize for the waste of HARD DRIVE.
