Tomorrow I might go to Kings Island for the first time since 1999. I'm super excited! :D It all comes down to if my girlfriend's brother wants to take us. He probably will.

Anyways, my question is about Season Passes. I will be buying a platinum pass for the first time this year. (Platinum is what they are called at CP, I think they are gold at KI.) I need to know a few things.

  1. Since this pass comes with free parking, how do I get free parking before I even have my pass? Do I show them the print off ticket thing?
  2. Since I will be visiting Cedar Point way more times than KI should I still buy it off the KI website?
  3. Where is the season pass processing building at Kings Island?
  4. How long does it take for me to get my pass?
  5. Since I bought it and processed it from Kings Island do I still get the Point Perks at CP?
Thanks in advance for the help. Sorry if some of these questions are stupid or didn't make sense. Any other tips for tomorrow would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

At Cedar Fair, a Platinum Pass is a Platinum Pass is a Platinum Pass. To get free parking chainwide and to get in other parks besides the one where you bought it, you must get Platinum. A Gold Pass is a Kings Island pass with some perks at Kings Island, including, currently but not always, free parking there. You don't want that.

Season pass processing is to the left of the main gate. It probably won't take long if you get there early. And you get Point Perks at Cedar Point with a Platinum Pass wherever purchased at Cedar Fair. Cedar Fair will let you process your pass at any Cedar Fair park, though they prefer you to process it where you buy it. You cannot use it for entry until processed, except online purchases can sometimes be used for entry once, but must be processed that day. Be sure to get your parking money refunded if you pay to enter the lot the morning you process. If you want, you can buy a Cedar Point Platinum pass and process at Kings Island, but I'd not do that if I were you. I'd buy a Platinum Pass for the first park I intended to visit.

Hope that helps!

So, buy the Platinum Pass off the KI website, don't buy the gold. With this pass I get free parking to ALL Cedar Fair parks. I get ERT, discounts, ride nights and other fun things to ALL Cedar Fair parks.

When I get there I go straight to the SP building and get the official pass.

Correct me if any of this is wrong.

The only question I have left is where do I get my refund for parking?

Thanks Terpy! :)

First try to use the season pass voucher at the parking booth. If it doesn't work (it should), pay the ten bucks and get a receipt. Either Season Pass Processing or Guest Relations will refund your ten dollars (it varies from year to year). And enjoy!

Last Sunday it took us about 20 minutes to get our PP processed. The OP was correct that if you want to get into both CP & KI you want the PP. Last Sunday they just scanned our voucher at the parking area.

PP is the same as GP but at all of the CF parks.

Have fun

Her brother had a poker tournament today so we couldn't go. We were thinking about going next Saturday, but chances are we will both have baseball/softball. Guess I just have to wait.

Thanks to everybody who helped! :)

After Millennium was built at CP in 2000 we have gone there ever since. Its also a little closer. I went to CP 14 times last year and now since DB was built I want to go to KI.

If I don't end up going to KI till later this year it is ok because I'm going to CP May 29th with 20 friends for my Birthday. :D

Actually, a lot of people go into processing thinking they can get their refund there. You get it at the sales widow or GR, not processing. :)

^And at one time those people wouldn't have been wrong to do so. It used to be that you could get a refund in processing, not just at the windows. That's the reason we put a register in processing while I was there, to handle any parking refunds that came up and to assist people in purchasing parking passes etc. without having to go back out and waiting at the windows. Once we put that register in there, it made it very convenient for both the guests and the associates. Sad to hear they took that out, especially when those lines at SP get long. Sigh...
