TTD-120-420
Me and my cousin left his house in Troy at 7:55 Saturday morning. We arrived at KI at 9:05. We got our passes (he got a gold and I got a Platinum) processed and headed into the park around 9:15. We walked right to Diamondback. They weren't letting people in the line because they weren't finished with morning testing cuz of rain. After about three cycles they opened the line. My cousin and I were on the first train of the day. Front seat of the back car. We were pumped. I was waiting for my first DB ride since construction started. The first drop was ok not to special, but pretty cool. I was extremely excited to experience some airtime. I was extremely let down at the end of the ride. The airtime was so gentle I couldn't tell that I was floating. I knew I wasnt going to get ejector air on this ride, but I expected a lot more than what I got. Just for the heck of it we rode it 2 more times. Our 2nd ride was front row which was way better than our first ride. We just hung there on the first drop which was a weird effect, but I liked it. It seemed a lot faster in the front row. Still no noticeble airtime. The 3rd ride was somewhere in the middle. Not very exciting really. This would be our last time of the day riding it. 3 times in 15 minutes not bad. My cousin also thought it was dull. The park still hasn't opened yet so we went over to Beast. We rode this twice in the back seat without having to get off. The first ride I hated. It was so rough. By 1/2 way through the 2nd ride I learned how to ride. I kept my back off of the back of the seat and it was a lot more enjoyable. It was a fun ride for just going down hills diagonally. I'm not going to go into details for the rest of the day cuz most of you don't probably give a hoot. We rode Firehawk twice. (loved it!) Adventure Express once just for the memories of it being our first coaster. (Still love the guys in the last tunnel) We paid for Sling Shot. It was one of the best things of the day. Went on the E. Tower twice. Son of Beast was down all day. Rode Vortex after a 1/2 hour period of downtime. We ate orange chicken at Panda Express. Really good food! Rode Topgun once. We did the Spongebob 3D thing. That was sweet. Italian Job once, and Flight of Fear once. Scooby Doo Haunted Castle ride 5 times. This was my favorite in the park. Also Racer blue side. The park is amazing. The rides not so much. We both loved the Scooby Doo ride. IMO, Diamondback was more fun watching it be built than it was riding. Best coaster: Beast Best part of the day: tie between Scooby and Slingshot. I will be coming back to the park 3 more times this year. I liked it, but didn't love it. Thanks for reading.
Jasper
Mhmmmmm hmmmm.....Well you i'm glad you had a semi-good trip back for the first time in 10 years. Did you notice how much the park has grown up and how so much has changed. The last time you were there, King Cobra was still lurking, FOF had OTSR's, and The Racer ran backwards. Not to mention Hanna-Barbarra land still being there.
TTD-120-420
I did miss HB land. Inoticed that was gone. I really haven't kept track with anything going on at KI since my last trip. I only started because of DB. As soon as I got in line for Beast the smell came back to me from 1999. Only beast has that great wooden smell. Anybody else ever smell that? I rarely remember anything from my last visit. Just a few things here and there. I know I like it more now than I did ten years ago.
