The Interpreter
MUSKEGON COUNTY -- Michigan's Adventure Amusement Park is coming off another record year in attendance but is facing a difficult economic climate this season without a new ride. However, the park's longtime general manager said that even as corporate outings are down in this economy, general interest in visiting Michigan's Adventure this summer remains strong. Season pass sales remain high, she said. "We are cautiously optimistic," said General Manager Camille-Jourden Mark. "We will be focused on providing great guest service. We need to give people a reason to come back." Michigan's Adventure is still getting visitor interest in the Thunderhawk, the park's suspended roller coaster that was installed at the beginning of the 2008 season. The Thunderhawk helped draw more than 500,000 people to the park last summer, but owner Cedar Fair LP does not release specific attendance figures... ..."We are cautiously optimistic. KingCobra
I have been out to Michigans Adventure numerous times, before and after Cedar Fair aquired it. I love that park, Shivering Timbers is my second favorite wooden coaster out there, behind Voyage and ahead of Beast. But one of the large problems that park will face is, if anyone has been out there, its out in the middle of no where. There isnt alot near by, much like Holiday World is as well. PhantomTheater
^Try getting a flat tire out by the park, then you relize how far nowhere you are. Also, there is no food near the park thus a 20 minute drive was in order.
The Interpreter
And the food that is in the park makes that 20 minute drive well worth it, sad to say.
