I_heart_pki
Everyone has their own opinion about what makes a coaster great. I love steel coasters with hills and airtime. (accept for FoF) and wooden rollercoasters with speed but not painful! First poll! woohoo!
Tom76257
I like sustained speed, a smooth ride (I won't ride Blue Racer but once a season because of this.), no trims are preferable but not required, lots of positive G's (negative and lats are okay, but I love being plastered into my seat!), and an overall fun ride experience. A ride doesn't have to do anything spectacular to me as long as it fulfills some of those requirements.
I_heart_pki
ON the bus ride home from the park yesterday I heard people saying that they didn't like Diamondback because it didn't have any loops. They said it was boring because it had no inversions. Ugh.
The Interpreter
I wonder if they now say the same about Son of Beast... If it were not for its...uh...violence, that ride would be boring....
I_heart_pki
They were complaining about the loop on SoB also and they didn't want to ride it because people died on it. I gave up trying to explain stuff to them.
HTCO
Wood or Steel dosen't matter to me. As long as it has great speed, a good layout and some airtime, I love it.
McSalsa
I'd love a wooden terrain coaster with a 200ft. drop, multiple airtime hills and tunnels, 2 helixes (both in tunnels, ala Beast) made of high-quality pre-made wood, but with just a hint of roughness so you know it's a woodie myself...and if possible, one great loop somewhere in there. If it means using some steel to re-enforce the track, so be it, as long as it doesn't ruin the "woodie" feel. But the loop is optional. My favorite coaster in-park? The Beast, especially at night. I just love the tunnels at night.

coaster_junky
so i don't care if it's wood or steel, but if it's steel i love height, speed, and air time and for wooden coasters i love speed and roughness. as for favorite roller coasters in the park, for steel it's Diamondback, and for wooden it's Son of Beast

Phantom Theater
I like both wood and steel. They need to have Airtime, and a loong ride time.Thats why i dont like FD.
TheCryptRaider
Wood and steel both do the job so I don't like one better than the other. I like speed and airtime the most, and finally my three favorite rides are in this order: 1. The Beast 2. Diamondback 3. FoF. Posted from my iPod. gigacoaster2k
I voted for wooden coasters with speed and airtime. Angie, who is now completely spoiled by Voyage
KIfan1980
I voted for wooden coasters with speed and airtime. Angie, who is now completely spoiled by Voyage From signing Angie instead of Giga, the strong words in your PTR, and now this? Should we be expecting an avatar change soon? The Interpreter
Nah, Avatar is pretty much set in his ways.... Oh, you meant giga...she's got Coastermania coming this weekend. Millie will remind her of all that is good about that ride and the park will do likewise, then she will see der point again...It's often good to take a holiday from one's attachments, try on new things and see how they fit. But old shoes fit best of all!
Dvo
^really, terpy? your pun-producing machine is on overdrive. I voted for height and airtime. Of course I'm biased due to my unfaltering love for millie (looking at you, angie).
dare-to-fly
I finally had to time to vote in this particular poll, and I can't let this go. There is NOT an S in The Racer. The Racer is The Racer. There is Blue Racer and there is Red Racer. Occasionally there is a winner on The Racer. However, The Racer, no matter how you put it, never has an s on the end. Flyer, who is easily peeved by this. gigacoaster2k
MY LOVE FOR MILLIE DOES NOT FALTER!! Millie is my #1 steel. Voyage is my #1 wood. Angie, who loves them both very, very much

dare-to-fly
Yes, they do make mistakes. I won't be officially peeved until it's a repeat offense. Flyer, who isn't as big of a PITA in person.
I_heart_pki
Haha. I don't say The Racers when I talk about the ride. I wonder why I typed it? hmmm. Oh well.
dare-to-fly
You were probably thinking about the two sides to The Racer. Two sides, one coaster.
KIfan1980
You were probably thinking about the two sides to The Racer. Two sides, one coaster. Does that mean I only get to count it once in my "coaster" count
The Interpreter
According to the park, yes. Then again, the park says Avatar: The Last Airbender is a coaster....

Beast1979
I have decided not to vote in this poll, for several reasons. 1. Wood or steel? GAH! That question never fails to destroy me. I love both, for their own special reasons. 2. Airtime? Inversions? Why, all of them of course! Certain coasters are meant for certain things. Diamondback? Airtime (And a whole lot of it!) Vortex? Inversions. That's why I'm thankful for Kings Island so I can have such a great variety of rides. To choose between them would be, ehh, difficult. 3. The RacerS! There is just "The Racer" There is no S. I'm sorry, but I've been seeing a lot of that lately and it is peeving me.
The Interpreter
Have you been reading only the last few posts again before posting? The original poster has already explained it was a mistake, she did not mean to do it, and she has repented... Dare-to-fly had already called her out on that, and even used the word peeved! http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...st&p=302470
KIfan1980
I've sat out this poll for similar reasons to Beast1979 - I honestly couldn't choose between Wood and Steel and absolutely love many different aspects of roller coasters - Airtime, Speed, Lateral G's, Inversions. Even some of the most simple components are memorable and favorites - things like the slight lean to the left on King Cobra near the end or the swinging of Flight Deck as it hits the brakes.
