Gabe
Cleaning gum has got to be by far one of the cheaper maintenance things the park can do. Just provide a good strong solvent, which is relatively cheap and get a couple of maintenance guys to clean it off. Little things like that go a long way towards helping the park..things like making sure the figures at the end of AE move all the time..things like replacing burnt out bulbs on rides so they don't look trashy at night....I know it sounds nitpicky but as Terpy has mentioned, if the park takes pride in itself, the guests will hopefully follow. StalkerChick
I can understand that it is not an easy or fun task. There are a LOT of jobs that are not easy nor are they fun. Have you ever seen the TV show Dirty Jobs? There are a lot worse jobs out there than cleaning gum off of walls, and there are people that do them every day. I think you are on to something here, how about Mike Rowe comes in and helps clean the park during the offseasson. Especially the gum wall, I think that would be an awesome episode of Dirty Jobs. I think Don needs to email the Dirty Jobs website with this idea, maybe do it during Haunt so Mike can help set it up and then take a spin on DB at the end of the day. Great publicity for the park. OMG!! i was totally thinking this!!! This might be the single greatest thing for the park!! and i haven't seen anything done quite like it on the show so i think it would work really well!! You'd think with all the new things added and new management they would give more of a crap... but i'm really starting to wonder if getting rid of Paramount really was a good thing or not... yes we've had some great new additions.... but then again, theres still the same flippin problems.. The Interpreter
On the other hand, Flight of Fear is still at Kings Island, entertainment has improved drastically, and the food...well, let's just say the food is still the food.... Not to mention that CBS/Paramount Parks was obviously not about to build Diamondback any time soon....
CedarPointer
The only thing I find slightly offensive about the upkeep of the park is the two neat little piles of bird that are visible when you are going up AE's first lift. When you're first going onto the lift, look to your left at the lift motor for lift 2. Apparently, AE was quite the adventure for some poor bird. Could they PLEASE clean that up? It's starting to smell...
