Hello all...

Thought that I would post about my trip to Kings Island this last weekend. Let me first say that I have been on the site daily since I started planned my trip up there. I live in the Nashville area so it is about 4 1/2 - 5 hours. I've not been because last time I went I was not about to ride in The Flight of Fear because I weighed too much. I've lost about 150 pounds so I decided that I would try another trip... Glad I did as I'm a rider, love the rides and coasters.

So I arrived at my hotel about 11am and they did not have a room available, so I decided to head over to the park. I originally bought a one day ticket online, but by reading the posts I decided to upgrade the ticket to a two day ticket. Originally I was going to spend part of the day on the way up on sunday at KY Kingdom as I have a Six Flags Season pass... but changed my mind. Glad I did.

I got to the park after the upgrade headed over to the Action Zone. First ride was the Invertigo. It was a good ride. I've not been on this type of coaster before, but it was a good one. I've read some negative things about a few of the rides at the park, with this being one of them, but I enjoyed it. I sat at the "back" (the end furthest from the lift hill) the first time and the other end the next time I rode it. Both were good rides.

Next I went over to Drop Tower. I've been on the one at Six Flags in Atlanta and this one was about the same but much higher. One thing that I would have liked to see is to have the seats tilt foward like the one in Atlanta, but it was still a great ride. Then I went to ride the Delirium. OH WOW! This is an AWESOME ride! I rode this one 4 times over the two days. I wish it was longer!

Then I went on SOB. I didn't like it. After I rode it the first time I made up my mind that I would not ride it again. Well the 2nd day I decided to give it a 2nd chance. Still not that great. I don't know what about it I don't like. Just was it.

Next was Flight Deck. I like these types of rides. The one at Six Flags Magic Mountain in CA, is alot better, also it is longer. I only rode this one once, wasn't worth it.

Next I headed over and watched the Slingshot. Should have rode that, but I was by myself and not sure that they would allow a single rider. Next time though I will ride it.

Then I rode the Adventure Express. I always thought that Arrow coasters were smooth, but that shows how long it has been since I've ridden one! This was an ok ride, the theming was good given the age of the ride.

Next was The Racer. This is a good coaster. Not bumpy, or rough. I rode both sides and I felt that they were equal. No one wanted to ride this one, or because everyone was at Diamondback or the water park. Both days that I went, there was no line at The Racer.

Then I rode The Monster. Boring. I rode this because I told myself that I was going to ride every single ride in the park that I could (short of the water rides and kiddy rides). Really the only one that I missed was the Scrambler and Zypher. These are fair rides and should have done the same on the Monster.

Next I headed over to X-Zone (I think that is what that area was called). Firehawk was closed, so I went in and waited for Flight of Fear. I liked this ride. This is the one that the seat belt would not latch on me the last time, so I was nervous about getting in it. I was fine this time, but there is not much room for a "normal" sized person, or someone with long legs. It was a little rough, but still I really liked this ride.

Once done there, Firehawk was still closed, so headed over to The Beast. I love this ride. It is a little rough (nowhere as near as it's "son"). I rode him twice.

This time of day it was about 3pm and time to go and eat. I came back to the park about an hour later and decided that it was time to hit Diamondback. I really wanted to save the best for later in the day.

I went to get in line and they had that single rider line open. I now understand what everyone is talking about were groups do use it. However sometimes it felt as if the line was not moving at all and the main line was, so why did people use it? I do feel that if you are at the park with a group, then stand in the normal line. The signs specificly state "No Groups". Oh Well, it did not affect my ride. This is a good ride, no a great ride! I got off and went right back into line for a 2nd ride.

Then I went over and rode the Crypt. This ride does need to be taken out to make more room for something else. It was boring. It was short, etc.

Then I went on the Backlot Stunt Coaster. This is a fun ride, short, but very fun.

Once I rode this I then went back to Action Zone and hit all the rides again (except SOB and Flight Deck).

2nd day, I hit all the highlights, and also decided to give SOB a 2nd chance. Not a good ride. Don't like it.

Overall I love this park. It is close enough for a long weekend or a sunday monday trip. I lived in S California most of my life and was a Magic Mountain person. Now I've not been there in a while, but I think that Kings Island is much better.

Next year I plan on a "road trip" and hit a few parks, one being Kings Island and another being Cedar Point.

Michael.

PS - Ok I figured out how to add photos - I hope...

Congratulations on the weight loss! Great trip report...one of our posters here will help you with the pictures, but they must be hosted on a website or somewhere other than your own computer...

As for Drop Tower, Acrophobia at Six Flags Over Georgia is a stand-up drop ride, the only one of its kind in the world (and there is a reason....OUCH!)
