Back in 1886, James Parker sold his apple orchard in March to the Ohio Grove Corporation for $17,500. They made improvements to the property and opened "Ohio Grove: The Coney Island of the West" on a rainy June 21st, 1886. The following year, the Ohio Grove name was dropped and the park was simply "Coney Island." Happy Birthday Coney Island! Quote

CoastersRZ Posted June 22, 2009 Author Posted June 22, 2009 Yep. Today was a rather slow day on the rides side at Coney, but the pool had a very busy day. I also enjoyed the air conditioning in the ticket booth for early shift, even though I do not particularly like working the ticket booth. Quote
