rotag
well, gma and i decided to go on that day after i was to get off at 7am. i go in to work to find that first shift is a no-call/no-show cause she calls work on second shift saying she aint comin in instead of the manager. so i called the manager and she got someone their at 8am. we finally took off and stopped at kroger to pick up a ticket {for gma} at the price of $28.99. on the way there i wasn't paying attention and got caught by a cincy cop doing 72 in a 50 {darn construction zone}. the officer was nice and i told him i honestly wasn't paying attention. we get to the park and it is now 10:15am. first we hit up SDatHC which was a fail cause the animatronics werent functioning properly and the lazer guns were a bust. we went over to db, i was going to get in one ride while gma looked in the outpost. i rode with a guy who said he had been to the site but has never posted. i told him that we would enjoy to have him here with the rest of us coaster-nut's. after that we went to wwc, gma decided not to ride due to the long walk and she didn't want to get wet. gma stated she had never seen so many trashy looking women in the park ever, so i got to thinking is this the sign of the times chaging or is our park turning into a filth holder of sleezy people. then we went on the train, which was relaxing {gma laffed cause i used it as a blow-dryer, instead of using the family dryer}. then yes i did pas up The Beast, yes i know it is a shocker. we stopped at larosas so i could get a wristband, and thhey said they dont carry them anymore. so looks like i will hit the water fountains by the restroom this year {except, for when i get something to eat}. gma hates the bouncing balls also, she also pointed out to me {even though i already knew} that the antique cars were where the b.l.s.c. is. i rode shake, rattle, & roll, while gma sat out cause i could see her eyes and stomache roll just watching it. then we went to ride f/x theater and as we got off, gma stated that for it being a kids show the ride would be preatty ruff for the young-un's. we hit up the first arcade, followed by the zepher {i saw gma hold here hat and close her eye's, to keep from getting sick}. then we went over to the other arcade. as we went by subway gma was shocked by the price for a 6-inch. i managed to talk her onto A.E. {i had no idea she would jerk around that much in the back seat. we then went to the festhaus to eat at panda express, where are chow mein was dry and the fortune cookies were lame. we caught the down home country show where, the butcherd a lot of the songs and stated some songs were sung by people who never even sung those songs. then we went to v.f. where gma didnt understand the concept of the screaming match, and was about to toss her cookies. then we went on the tower where gma was sarcasticly making fun of the stupid people. then went and saw endless summer where she leaned over to me and said they need to turn down the volume and fell asleep. then we went and tried SDatHC again. it failed again but we did score better this time. then we decided to leave for the day. in retrospect, and as one other on here has stated before "im running out of rides to take gma on." KIfan73
One of my most fun trips to KI ever was last summer following my friend's 3 year old around the park. We had a blast.
The Interpreter
One day you will look back fondly on these trips. Enjoy them while you can. Terpy, who knows well these things (and yes, I loved your trip report! I bet gma had a great time, too!)
IBEW_Sparky
When you said that "they" are no longer carrying the drink wristbands, do you mean LaRossas, or the entire park? If its the entire park all I can say is... seriously guys? Sounds like you had a nice time at the park, and I agree fully with you in regards to Down Home Country. Yeah, I agree with gma on the dress code, but thats for another topic. I did get a kick out of her falling asleep though!! As Terpy states, enjoy time with her-you never know when it may be the last. I took the folks, separately since they are divorced, in 2007 and we had a ball. Neither one could ride as much as when we all went growing up, but such is life.
