DropZone99 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Diamondback recently gave its 500,000th ride of the season. The tallest, fastest and meanest roller coaster to ever strike Kings Island has a capacity of 1,600 riders per hour! http://kiDiamondback.com/public/latest/blog/ Quote
Thrill_Biscuit Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Congratulations to all the riders, Kings Island, the DB Crews, and B&M! That's to the Moon and back! How many gallons of splashdown glory is that, I wonder? Anyway, awesome milestone! 1400! Quote
DropZone99 Posted June 26, 2009 Author Posted June 26, 2009 I think it will defiantly reach over 1 million riders in one season, It took TTD four years til' it reached 1 Million, in fact in it's first season it didn't even have 600,000 riders! Quote
The Interpreter Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Well...Diamondback is almost always open, and Top Thrill Dragster was almost always....uh...going to be open again soon! Quote
skaterboy22101 Posted June 26, 2009 Posted June 26, 2009 Actually I was talkling to Brian Kosmac and he said they plan to get around 3 million rides this season. That is amazing. They probually have about 600,000 rides now, if not more. Quote
The Beast Rider Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 ^ If you figure 1600 riders per hour and Diamondback being open 12.5 hours each day, that comes to a hefty sum of 20,000 riders per day! Granted, that would be a perfect day, still, that's a lot of riders. Quote
Coaster Kid Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 ^^imagine being on all 20,000 rides that day you would get reeally sick Quote
The Interpreter Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 Hmmm, first of all there are three different trains running and thirty two seats per train, so the most Diamondback rides you could theoretically be on in a typical twelve and a half hour park day IF the 20,000 riders per day figure is correct is 208. (Yes, there are days with extended hours...like the Saturdays coming up with two more hours and the additional half hour of ERT...that would add the possibility of another 42 rides or a total of 250). I honestly wonder if the 20,000 figure is accurate. That would have Diamondback dispatching every 72 seconds in a twelve and a half hour day in order to get in the required 625 trains of 32 riders with ZERO empty seats. Empty seats or trains would require even faster dispatches. Does not compute. To get 2.4 million more riders in the remaining days of the season is also quite unattainable. Quote
Fear the Four Posted June 27, 2009 Posted June 27, 2009 I think the Diamondback crew could get three million riders just lots of power hours. Quote
skaterboy22101 Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 I think the Diamondback crew could get three million riders just lots of power hours. They could easily, and I think they will. They give around 150,000 rides a week. It could happen pretty easily. Quote
Jasper Posted June 30, 2009 Posted June 30, 2009 Congratulations Diamondback! I think DB has really made the park more booming than ever. Quote
Colonel_SoB_fan Posted July 6, 2009 Posted July 6, 2009 http://www.kiDiamondback.com/public/latest/blog/ WOW 700,000 plus riders now Quote
