Dorney Park Opens Ice Show

Recommended Posts

Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom debuted its new ice show "Snoopy Rocks! On Ice" Tuesday at the park's brand new $6 million Good Time Theater.

Snoopy and the rest of the Peanuts gang took the ice with 16 professional skaters, one an Olympic medalist and four of whom are local. The show will be open to the public three times a day beginning Thursday through Labor Day. It will be presented four times a day on Saturday and be closed Wednesdays....

Are you implying that the theatre wasn't ready to open with the park?

Construction went very, very quickly... but they started very late. The building was mostly prefab off site (huge, concrete slabs trucked in). You can see in this April 10th update, they were just starting foundation work. Less than 3 months later they're doing shows in the building.

The show will be the seventh ice show in the Cedar Fair group of amusement parks. Karen Kresge, a former Ice Follies star and a personal friend of Peanuts creator the late Charles M. Schultz is the director and choreographer of the 47-minute show, as well as the ice shows at the other parks.

Wow... that's incredibly long for a theme park show.

Endless Summer on Ice is 30mins if they kept the few songs that they replaced this year they could easily gone over 47mins.

I realize that, but 30 minutes is about the max length you'll see a show at Kings Island. Imagine going to a 47 minute show, it would proportionately feel like an eternity!
