DropZone99
Well at the last minute I decided to go to Chicago with Mitchell cause I thought we may go to Kiddieland, but we ended up not going. But anyways, We left for Chicago at around 7:30 and got there around 11:30 Central Time Zone (12:30 our time.) When we got to the hotel our room wasn't ready so we had to sit in the lobby for along time, but I decided to walk around. I saw a buffet that looked closed but I opened it to see what was inside of the trays. Than an employee came along and told me I could have some food for free so I ate some Bacon, Eggs, French Toast, Sausage, hash Browns, and an Omelet. Than we went and walked around the city. We went into a subway thing and it smelled disgusting so we left. Than we were going to the John Han**** Building but it cost alot of money so we decided to go to Willis Tower, but I guess everyone else forgot and we ended up at the Beach. The water was Ice Cold and it was super windy and chilly. We left and went to a boat. It said it was 90 Minutes long but we were gone for over 140 Minutes. I honestly didn't have any fun on the Tour cause A dumb flag was in the way of my view the whole time, it was windy, cold, rainy, and I hadn't slept in forever. I fell asleep a few times on the boat while staring off into the water... Than we went to some restaurant that I don't know how to spell or say. It was Italian, and started with a B. I wasn't hungry so I didn't eat. I was really sick and tired, so I fell asleep at the table. Than an hour later I guess it was my uncle's birthday so He got free Cake. They asked me if I wanted some so I said sure I'll get some Cheesecake. I figured it was free, but no it cost $10! It was the worst cheesecake ever, I took half a bite and just stared at it the rest the time we were there. Than it started raining harder and we left. I was so anxious to go to the Hotel and take a nap than get in the hot tub, but when I get to the room I somehow get alot of energy and decide to go to the hot tub first. I change into my shorts and I put my wallet (with $55, Platinum Pass, and Learners Permit in it) On the counter top in the bathroom. Than I go to the Hot Tub to find it Drained and had yellow tape around it... So I go to the computer room and get on KIE. Than on my way to the room they started giving out free tacos so I get in line for it. Than an Employee tells me I have to have a shirt and shoes on to be in the lobby so I go back to my room, change, and go back to the Taco Bar thing. They were pretty good. Than I go back to the room and go to sleep. Than I wake up at 9pm. to find I'm all alone in the hotel room. I look out the window and It's dark out. Than I fell asleep and everyone else left... So I decided to go walk around the city, I go to get my wallet out of the bathroom. But wait... it's not there! So I search every where in the room for hours. Than everyone else gets back and than I keep searching for it. Than I decided to just go walk around anyways. By this time it was around 1:30am. and people were saying stuff like "It's past that kids bed time!" when they walked past me. It got on my nerves so bad. I know I don't look my age, but come on, I don't like 10! Since I'm fed up with everything going wrong I say stuff back like "Wow, If I wade that much, I wouldn't wear that." So I'm calling them fat, I know it's rude but I'm super Pi$$ed. I can't help it that I'm only 5ft. 5in. They can go on a diet and lose wait! So than I go to the room and go to sleep. Next morning wake up and take a shower and search more for my wallet and go to the lobby again to complain about my wallet being missing cause I know I didn't lose it, it had to be stolen. Than we walked around town and ate at some place that didn't have a name but it was next to the Chicago River. Than we did more stuff and went to some Asian Town than left for Indiana. Overall I had a horrible time, I was sick, tired, cold, my wallet got stolen, we didn't really do much but ate and walked around. Indianapolis Skyline in the morning from the Highway. Sears Tower. John Han**** Building and Church thing. I don't know why the sign says Chase, cause it's not the Chase Tower. From The beach. Doesn't look like Illinois at all! Random flower next to the Beach. Random hotel. Alot of people. Chicago River. Trump Tower. Very Modern. East side. The lock. Some of the skyline.
DropZone99
A castle looking building. A different castle thing. Random building. Riverwalk. Which one's better? Historical people. Look how shiny Trump Tower is. I wouldn't do that in the nasty river full of trash... ... ... How clean! Do you see me? Of course I'm the guy in Chicago with The Beast shirt. Thew Bean... Random stage thing. Thanks for reading.
House
Sorry you didnt have fun, I've never had a bad trip there. I grew up in South Bend and used to go there a lot when I was younger.
Thrill_Biscuit
Sorry about the bad trip. However, awesome photos as usual, especially the second night castle shot! I've seen pics of that thing that looks like the spaceship from "Flight of the Navigator" on calendars n' such. The shot where the flowers stand out most is the better of the two featuring those zany apartment towers. Some of the swirly pictures look like something M.E. Escher might have drawn (he's the guy -for those who don't know- is famous for hand-drawing his self-portrait holding up a glass orb, as well as all those weird pictures of people walking up and down staircases that go in all directions)... Big LOL for "Sears Tower"... totally took me by surprise. Great stuff!
The Interpreter
I am very sorry about your wallet. Your Platinum Pass can be replaced, but there is a fee. With a police report (which you don't have, apparently), the fee can be waived, I do believe. Also, it may still turn up, though it is unlikely. Great pictures, as always! standbyme
Probably one of the most depressing trip reports that I have read on here. (I'm surprised that you wanted to type it out and re-live it all!) The pictures are great...thanks for sharing! P.S. there is something wrong when you can't even post John Han****'s name without it being censored. cholderfield
Great pics, sorry the trip wasn't that great! I'm personally looking forward to my Chicago trip in September. My girlfriend and I are flying from Columbus and staying for five nights. We're going to U2's concert (first of the North American leg, I believe) - I'm looking forward to that! Mindy is looking forward to anything else we can find to do. We're staying at the Ambassador East Hotel. Does anyone have any trip suggestions? KI Kevin
A castle looking building. I do believe that that was actually somehow a water tower. And when the whole city burned down, that was the only thing that survived.
