TheCryptRaider
Okay so, recently I was given the privelege of going to Cedar Point for my birthday. (I wouldn't go on my birthday, but I would go a week after) Also, I found out I would be going to Florida to visit my family who live down there. I was told we weren't allowed to go to any amusement parks down there since we're going to Cedar Point. Today, my mom said I had the decision to choose between a park in Orlando (and I immediately thought of Universal Studios) or Cedar Point. She said if I chose to go to Universal that we could go to Cedar Point next summer. So at that, do you think I should go to Cedar Point this year or go to Universal this year and go to Cedar Point next year? Thanks.

Erosarrow05
If you have the time ... I'd go to Universal personally... Its a great value and a great experience!

DropZone99
Cedar Point all the way, Universal doesn't really have much.
Phantom Theater
Cedar Point!! Love that place, ive been their once, but ive been to universal twice. Cedar Point all the way!
The Interpreter
If you choose to go to Cedar Point this summer, can you also decide to go to Cedar Point next summer?
TheCryptRaider
If you choose to go to Cedar Point this summer, can you also decide to go to Cedar Point next summer? I think we're getting Platinum next year so yeah.
The Interpreter
Hmmmm...that makes things much harder...At Universal, could you do IOA and the studio park or just one? Have you been to CP or Universal before?
TheCryptRaider
I haven't been to either one. And I could do IOA and Universal, and also on either one of these trips I'd get my 50th coaster. I was kind of hoping I could make it be Millenium Force, but if I didn't go to Universal then I probably wouldn't be able to go for a long time. The Interpreter
Under those circumstances, my vote is for Universal. Some dandy ticket deals are available online, too...
TOPGUN1993
Cedar Point or Universal... hmm ..... I'd rather take a great adventure, personally.
The Interpreter
That was a rather bush league response, don't you think?
HTCO
Universial. Considering your curcumstances. Make sure you ride Hollywood Rip, Ride, Rockit for me!
Browns4life
Cedar Point has rides, rides, and more rides. Universal has a better experience. Not to mention two parks. Hulk, Dueling Dragons, and Spiderman are well worth the admission!
The Interpreter
And Dudley! Well, at least before the newest restraints...whatever they are this week!
HTCO
^ I want to ride that ride SO bad! Last time I was there we got in line and it broke down. Plus the line was huge so we left.
coaster_junky
i've only been to Cedar Point, but if you are getting the chance to go next year i say go with universal ioa
Beast1979
Logically it seems Universal would be the smartest decision. Seeing as though you are going to be able to visit Cedar Point next year and probably not Universal next year, and maybe *crosses fingers* Hollywood Rip Ride Rocket will be open, so I say go Universal. I will be at Universal today (go figure) and will be getting my 50th coaster (again, go figure) so tonight I will have the opinion of being to both parks. goofywdw
Neither! Magic Kingdom baby!
Captain Picard
I have been to Orlando many times and I can't remember driving by Universal not wanting to go. I don't think I ever was wishing I was at Cedar Point when I was at Universal either.
Touchdown
Universal is a fantastic park, just be sure to spring for the 2 park ticket because you will just be wishing you could ride the rides in the other park if you dont. Must rides at USO: -Revenge of the Mummy -MIB: Alien Attack! -Jaws -T2 -ET Adventure (trippy) -Simpsons, havent ridden this one myself but heard good things Mus rides at IOA: -The Amazing Spiderman (whatever you do, ride this, no matter the wait at least once) -The Incredible Hulk -Dudley Do Right's Ripsaw Falls* -Popeye's Bilgerat Barges* -Jurassic Park River Adventure* -Dueling Dragons -Cat in the Hat *You get wet on these rides but they are some of the best examples of their rides anywhere
KIFAN!
For me I would pick Universal but, I get the privlege of being able to go to Cedar Point and Kings Island a lot so for you I can see how it must be a very difficult decission. No matter what you choose I'm sure you'll have fun.
Tom76257
I've only been to Cedar Point. It is a GREAT park. In your situation, though, I'd go to Universal Studios because your family will be getting the CF Platinum Pass next year. There's also a few B & Ms down at Islands of Adventure that I wouldn't mind riding - Dueling Dragons and Incredible Hulk (One ride I MUST ride before I die.). Diamondback96
I've been to KI, CP, and WDW. Never Universal. But I still say Universal because of your situation. Or possibly WDW.
TheCryptRaider
I think I'll go to Universal, and not get the credit for their junior coaster (Woody Woodpecker) and still have Millenium Force as my 50th coaster next year.
Beast1979
I just got back from Universal Studios / Islands of Adventure today. One word: WOW. Go to Universal. Get a 2 park pass. Ride everything you can. Yes, even the water rides. Eat at the restaurants. Browse the shops. Make sure to plan your trip in advance. Most of all, Enjoy. I know you will. Diamondback FOF
I would go to Universal given your circumstances. I can't give a recommendation based on experience, though, seeing as I haven't been to either. But, you can (possibly) go to Cedar Point next year. But, you may not be able to go to Universal next year. Also, you're traveling such a long distance, you might as well visit a park to make the trip even more worth it .
