Diamondback FOF Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Huh. Interesting thinking RailRider. I like having wiki at school for my iPod Touch on days like this. Quote
The Interpreter Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 ...But at least one astute amusement park observer, Gary Slade, publisher of Amusement Today, who refused to disclose in detail what he knows, was fairly emphatic about what it won't be. "If it's what I think it is — and I'm nearly 100 percent sure of this — it won't be another roller coaster," Slade said Tuesday from offices of the Arlington, Texas-based publication whose yearly poll has ranked Cedar Point the world's top amusement park for 11 straight years. "You're not going to see a Millennium Force or Top Thrill Dragster," Slade said. "This is still going to be a very marketable ride designed for families to enjoy together." While he declined to discuss specifics of the new ride, Slade hinted that it will not be any type of first-time-ever attraction, but something that has been missing from Cedar Point for a while... http://chronicle.northcoastnow.com/2009/09...hyte-lightning/ Quote
Diamondback FOF Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 That article said it is something many other parks have but CP doesn't. I wonder what that could be? Only 21 minutes left! Edit: CP Twitter also says it isn't a coaster. Quote
Dvo Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Shoot The Rapids returns to CP http://www.cedarpoint.com/public/park/ride...oot_the_rapids/ Looks like a pretty fun flume. Quote
Go Browns Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 I like this a lot. Don't get me wrong I loves me some twisted wooden coaster but this looks like a great addition. Quote
RailRider Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Over the shoulder lap bars. Must be the new preferred Intamin restraint for all rides. I must say the final splashdown looks really nice and I can only think the cost is so high because of the themeing or rock work that is being done. Quote
