Beastfreak
I thought the same thing. I was bummed Saturday night to see it closed. We were about to leave and that was one of the few rides that my friend would have gotten on, because he doesn't like to go upside down.
BoObKiNoS
No its not being taken out? where the heck did you get that from????
BoObKiNoS
Well, for those of you who don't know, which seems like it's just one of you. Last year, there was some sort of miscommunication between the maintenance staff and the ride operators. The ride operator did not know that one of the maintenance staff's trucks were parked way too close to track and during a test run, the train collided with the truck. Both were badly damaged. Top Gun opened a few days later using only the undamaged train. Good story, isn't it? -Ryan THAT is the most incorrect story ive seen on these boards. ever. I am offended. Beastfreak
And you aren't going to correct it if its wrong?
Xx2cansamxX
Im still confused with all this Top Gun collision stuff. Can someone tell me what really happened?
WildCat
I am not sure what is going on with TOP GUN, but at Cedar Point Iron Dragon was going very slow. Kings Island does sometimes list rides out front that will be closed for the day. Last year if you looked King Cobra and Ski Lab where on that list. Xx2cansamxX
Why did they take skylab out? It was the first ride I ever went upside down on, because I was to short to ride Vortex and all the other looping rides. I rode it with my dad.
Losing Streak
Skylab wasn't on the board last year. It's been gone for many, many years.
theultimatefan
People are always saying how bad of a ride Top Gun is, but i think it is probably one of the best suspended coasters out there and one of the fastest at 51mph. It may not be really long but it is still a quality ride. I dont see the need to take out Top Gun unless they are going to build a better ride in its place. AZ Kinda Guy
My two cents on Top Gun... First, lets get something straight. Ride Operators were NOT, I repeat, NOT involved last year. Ok now to the ride. Top Gun is a nice speedy coaster with great pacing and hardly any downtime. Sure the ride is far back there but I think it adds to the ride nicely. Quit whining and take the hike to the station. However, I think that is maybe the only thing that hurts it. First time visitors don't even know it exsists. I can't count the number of times I've had someone point to it on a park map and ask me "Whats that and where is it?" As for there being no line... The ride constantly runs two trains and the operators have the loading process down. Don't expect walk on conditions however on a 35,000 guests day. BoObKiNoS
Couldnt of said it better once again Sparks, and for the person who asked why i didnt correct it, it would be becuase when you work at the park there is a certain level of confedentiality that you must keep in mind. So I'm not going to just spill the beans and get fired.
Aaron
BoObKiNoS, that person that asked you why you didn't correct the story has worked at PKI for over 5 years, so I think he knows about all of the confidentiality "rules" there are.
CYoung2003
Well obviously he doesnt if he is asking him to explain the situation. Come on now that wouldnt make any sense. Unless you were trying to get someone fired. Ban me, yell at me, argue with me i personally dont care Im just putting in my two sense.

Instead of choosing to be offended by what I said, tell us what really happened. I had some friends who worked in games last year and that's what they told me happened. So once again, if you know what happened for real, then clear it up for the rest of us instead of just whining about it. Thanks, Ryan Edited January 1, 1970 by BoddaH1994
