OK, this one's a big poll...15 roller coasters. All woodies. Ready to duke it out.

RULES FOR QUALIFICATION (For the coasters of course)

#1-Must be from a local state. This includes Indiana, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, and Michigan.

#2-Must be wooden.

#3-Must NOT be a "kiddie" coaster.

#4-Racing coasters or dueling coasters enter as 1.

This will be one epic battle...and yes, Red Racer vs. Blue Racer vs. Blue Streak is still going on.

BEGIN THE BATTLE!!!

There is one on the list that is so far above the rest it is really no contest. If you have never ridden Voyage you won't now what I am talking about. If that is the case get your butt to Holiday World.

I've ridden Voyage. I am still raven about a different coaster in that park.

Wow. I think I know who voted for Raven now. ;)

I voted Racer. Racer is a classic coaster that never has a wait and never gets old. It's especially fun when a friend of yours is riding the opposite side at the same time, same seat. That's one of the very few races I can actually win.

P.S: I love The Beast too, but there's always a wait, it's a little to bumpy, and it scares the crap out of me when it goes so slowly up the hill and stops, which it does sometimes.

Anything at Indiana Beach or Kentucky Kingdom was out of the poll first. I think the only three really outstanding woodies in the area are Voyage, Beast, and Son of Beast. SOB may have the title of only hyper-woodie, but Voyage seems to come pretty close. The first part of Voyage rides like a giant steel coaster. From the brake-run to the end of the ride, Voyage doesn't let up, making you feel that your life might never be the same after riding it. I rode it 5x's when I went this year. The fifth time, it was raining, so it went a little faster and the rain drops were stabbing me in the face, so I had to keep my eyes closed most of the time. In the photo after the ride, I was screaming with my arms in front of me blocking the rain. My brother looked dead next to me or in a state of shock. That's a story I'll never forget about Holiday World. The reason Beast is #2 is based solely on the fact it was the inspiration for the Voyage in my opinion (the long ride-time, the tunnels).

I am continually amazed by the gushing that others do about Voyage. I just don't get it. It's a good ride, but for me, at least, it's not all that. Give me The Georgia Cyclone or Tremors at Silverwood any day. Give me the Giant Dipper at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Heck, I'd take the Comet at The Great Escape long before Voyage. Or Raven. Now THAT's a great ride.
