skatefanjeff
I think it was stupid how he didn't say what his favorite was. I think the best though is Millennium Force.
StXBomber
FoF ride time: 3:40. YEAH RIGHT! Why do newspapers mislead people and use load time with their ride time? We all know the ride is really just a minute long!
Tanner
They also said Holiday World was in Monticello, Indiana and that Indiana Beach was in Santa Claus, Indiana!

Tanner
Not about PKI, but about TTD. Something to the effect is "Best place to cover childs ears for adult language is the starting line."
fyrfyter
Pepsi Python will win worst coaster in the area award. I hope. It stinks hardcore. Have you lost it? Coney Island has been around longer than PKI has. It all honsesty, considering they only have one coaster, the python isn't that bad of a ride, since it is geared towards kids. I would expect to see Coney grow some more in coming years and maybe add another coaster.

I never said anything bad about the park, just that that coaster sucks, which, by all accounts, it does. I think Coney is awesome and it would be so cool if it were restored to its old glory. However, I think Kings Island will always dwarf Coney.

Coney Island is a great park, but Pepsi Python is NOT the smoothest or most enjoyable roller coaster I ever rode. And it is even smaller than The Beastie. Though I frequent PKI very often, Mrs. Chef & I do visit Coney Island several times a year. It is a beautiful park and worth visiting - but not for the Pepsi Python. I think that the Pepsi Python doesn't do justice to Coney Island and its past glory. I wish for its own sake, Coney Island would get at least one half-way decent roller coaster like Adventure Express. If Coney Island did, they would get many more visitors. coasterrz
I work at Coney as a ride operator. While the Python might not be a big, or glass smooth ride, it is still a coaster. I don`t see the park adding a major coaster like Adventure Express any time soon.
Losing Streak
Unfortunately, I don't forsee the park adding anything great either. The Pepsi Python looks like a carnival coaster, like it could be packed up and moved on a moment's notice. Unfortunately, it probably could. Coney is beautiful, but I don't think it can be restored to it's original glory. Location is bad due to floods, so a new ride would be questionable, seeing as how it may have trouble holding up to the water. Plus, I doubt the park has the capital necessary to purchase and maintain a quality ride. It almost makes me wish a major chain would purchase Coney, although I don't see that happening. It has next to no land when you factor out River Downs and Riverbend, and has become more of a fairground. The only reason it stays open is because of Sunlite Pool. Still, it's great to go and visit, ride the paddleboats, see Moonlite Gardens and all of the old markers. I really do enjoy Old Coney. Maybe someday someone will fix it up. If I won the lottery, I would.
coasterrz
The Python was not original to Coney but was located at Nickel`s Midway Pier in Wildwood, NJ from 1996 to 1998. It was moved to Coney in 1999. I don`t think that Coney would be bought by a corporate chain either. Currently, it`s owned by Park River Corp., which used to own Americana, until they sold that park. Actually, Sunlite Pool isn`t the only reason Coney stays open. Coney has a lot of company picnics like 5/3 and Pepsi. While it has no major blockbuster ride, it does offer plenty of whurl and hurls. Losing Streak
Can't forget the Celtic and Appalachian festivals. I'm sure they generate a fair amount of revenue. Does Coney own Riverbend and thus profit from the concerts there? Just out of curiousity.
coasterrz
It is my understanding that Coney doesn`t own Riverbend. However, they do handle the parking and concessions for Riverbend.
