DropZone99
So I was bored a few months ago and decided to think of ideas to make Firehawk better, and came up with this list. I think it would be a good addition to an already great ride. Idea for Firehawk increased capacity and more innovated ride. -Only use one side of the dual load station (one closest to queue.) Use the other station as a transfer track if one train is down. And build a wall in the station blocking the view of the transfer track but still using the exit. -On the brake run build a roof so if the crew is having problems and can't dispatch a train, the other train on the brake run will be shaded and comfortable. -Assign seats so trains can be dispatched faster and people won't be confused about wanting to sit in the front seat and end up sitting in the back seat do to the reverse dispatch. -Build a single riders line from the entranced to the station and so if there is a group of 3, a single rider can be placed in the row so each row is filled completely increasing capacity. -In the queue line place a few more shaders so guest waiting in line will be more comfortabe and cooler. -At the entrance to X-BASE where it says "Flight of Fear" and "Firehawk" put digital signs underneith of the sign displaying the ride's current wait time. To make it accurate the greeter's at both rides would change the wait time if the line length increased or decreased. The reason I would want this to be added is because sometimes me and who ever I am with at Kings Island will want to ride Firehawk or Flight of Fear and walk all the way to the ride to findout the queue time is 45 minutes - 90 minutes and decided we would rather ride a different attraction and have to walk all the way back. If this was used than guest could be walking in Coney Mall and look over towards the sign and see what the sign says and decide if they want to ride without having to walk all the way back there. -To make Firehawk even more innovated, place special effects throughout the ride. On the first fly to lie right before the loop make fire burst into the air making riders think they are going to catch on fire. Right after the lie to fly after the loop make some type of object on the ground pointing up towards the track so riders feel as if they are going to hit the object. And lastly at the end of the double zero gravity roll and helix put mist there to cool riders off, and so they don't know what is going to happen next. And lastly maybe put a lighting system on the lift hill featuring red lights to go along with the red theme.

shark6495
I am a fan off all the above except the ride theming and one side dispatch. Mainly this sounds some what expensive and seems it could go terribly wrong and cause the ride to be down while installing such things. The dual side dispatch could be run more effectively, didn't they do it in GL? The ride crew at FH are great don't get me wrong but for some reason there is a stalling moment there when there is an issue. The rest of the ideas sound great, shades for riders and Que line.... CedarPointer
I would cover the brake run AND lift hill. Staring into the sun on the lift is not fun at all. I like the idea of a SRL- I wonder if the direct-to-station queue was originally planned to be one? It's clearly too short for the lines that FH produces. I rode X-Flight on a couple of visits, and I don;t think it was ever run as a duel station. Always one station and then the second train, if it ever ran, would end up setting up in the brakes at the end of the ride. I would agree, with about every Vekoma flyer for that matter, that it would be wonderful to have the brake run covered. As bad as it is in extreme sun and heat, I have also had it in the rain which is in ways almost worse.
The Interpreter
Although Cedar Fair seldom (if ever?) ran both stations on X-Flight, Six Flags often did...
maverick2007
Firehawk is supposed to be a "Test-Pilot" kind of ride isn't it? I mean they do have that sign up near the front that says something to the effect of "Test Pilot Entrance". To risk sounding like a Disney fanboy the whole FH theme thing could kind of be used like Test Track with different test sections. Complete with on-ride audio of course... CedarPointer
I'd love to see some sort of theming on FH, even if it were just a simple Pantel TV blaring a video about how you're testing a new aircraft for the government. At least some of the music videos! FH is such a boring, hot wait. I love the ride, but it's just not worth it...
