Johnnygolucky08 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Has anyone noticed that the greeter stand to where king cobra was has been taken out halfway through this season? Why did ki take it out? its not like it was harming anything being there. im just curious as to what people think about this
KIfan73 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Wow, I didn't know it was still there. Anyone have a pic?
Phantom Theater Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Well, I knew it was their, but didnt know they removed it. Maybe possible new ride?
SonofBeast07 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 ^wow... a 5x5 ft square is gone so you think there is a ride going in there
Phantom Theater Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 ^wow... a 5x5 ft square is gone so you think there is a ride going in there Umm theirs land behind it. And they couldve removed thunder alley. I dont know, thats what the rolly eyes were for haha. Just a joke.
SonofBeast07 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 oh, sorry, did not see the rolly eyes ha ha. but thunder alley draws in decent money on a semi busy- busy day. i don't see it walking to the gallows just yet
SonofBeast07 Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 it was like 10 ft from ice scream zone by some bushes
Johnnygolucky08 Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 Wow, I didn't know it was still there. Anyone have a pic? sorry this was the best i could find. but you see that guy sitting in the far left corner of the pic? they just removed it this season

Coney Islander Posted September 3, 2009 Posted September 3, 2009 Great photo! Was this part of the entrance or something?
Johnnygolucky08 Posted September 3, 2009 Author Posted September 3, 2009 Great photo! Was this part of the entrance or something? yeah, look at the photo in the quote above it and you will see where it falls in place
SOB_TOM Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Probably because it looks completely out of place where it is, so they removed it? Just a thought...
CrashOverRided Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 Probably because it looks completely out of place where it is, so they removed it? Just a thought... for a new toilet facility sorry ....not sure
Oldschool75 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 I doubt they would take it down unless there was some damage to it, or they were clearing an area for something. Why else would a company use resources to remove something benign as that.
SonofBeast07 Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 It doesn't cost too much to remove something as simple as that stand. They put up that new fence and decided they'd take down the stand while they were at it.
74Gibson Posted September 4, 2009 Posted September 4, 2009 SOB Tom: That's just craziness Thanks for your unnofficial voice of reasoning!
CedarPointer Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Maybe it was an unsafe structure? I heard there's another one on the chopping block...
LordSkippy Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 I'm glad nobody whipped out the "A structure was torn down! That means a new ride is going in!" logic. Then again, you can never have too many restrooms...
CedarPointer Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 I'm not 100% familiar with the location, but it might be for a new ODV stand.
Diamondback96 Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 I'm glad nobody whipped out the "A structure was torn down! That means a new ride is going in!" logic. Then again, you can never have too many restrooms... A structure was torn down! That means a new ride is going in! I couldn't resist. I think new restrooms could be put in. But they don't need more in AZ right now, they need one in X-Base!
TOPGUN1993 Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 I just happen to have a photo from Aug 12th (shocking I know) Notice the New wooden fence and the removal of the chain link fence. With in the past 3 years alot of chain link fencing in Action Zone has been removed, and looks great.
coaster_junky Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 does anyone on here that can share know what happened to the antique cars that they had setting behind Delirium, did they scrap them or just move them to another area of the park?
TOPGUN1993 Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 They were shipped to Worlds of Fun in Kansas City.
Guest KINGSISLANDMASTER Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Wow, I didn't know it was still there. Anyone have a pic? sorry this was the best i could find. but you see that guy sitting in the far left corner of the pic? they just removed it this season better photo!!! its most recent look before it was taken down Sorry ,what did they use that for!
TOPGUN1993 Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Same reason many rides have them. To check height and sometimes test seats.
coaster_junky Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 They were shipped to Worlds of Fun in Kansas City. okay, i always thought it was kinda neat (and sad) at full swing on Delirium getting to look down and see all of them just setting there.
Johnnygolucky08 Posted September 5, 2009 Author Posted September 5, 2009 I doubt they would take it down unless there was some damage to it, or they were clearing an area for something. Why else would a company use resources to remove something benign as that. exactly. what was the point of them removing that?
Guest TombraiderTy Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 ^Cause it served no purpose. I don't know when the chain-link fence was removed, but if it was this year, it'd have made sense to remove the greeter stand as well. They also removed Flight Commander's waiting queue this year, and the old Laser Tag building- they're apparently just cleaning up areas of the park, removing eyesores and unnecessary things.
chippewa&idora4ever Posted September 5, 2009 Posted September 5, 2009 Maybe there was a wasp nest on it. It could be as simple as that, I like seeing little memories of old rides and old times (chippewa lake park ahem cough cough)
