DaveStroem
This Free Dining is not quite the same as the one offered during the summer. The one during the summer was the regular dining plan no matter what level of room you booked. This one is for the counter service plan if you in a value resort and then upgrades as you go to moderates or deluxe resorts. I will be there the end of this week
Avatar
When they started the free dinning promotion 5 years ago is was only offered during the late summer early fall months like last week of August through September. This will be our fourth year in a row to take advantage of this deal. The first year included two meals with one being a table service which included appetizer, main entree, desert, non alcoholic drink and Disney picked up the tip as well. Then since it has been scaled back to not include the appetizer and waiter tip. We booked last year so we are grandfathered in to get the older deal this year or we would have skipped this year. The general public was offered the old deal last spring but during the summer months to fill up rooms they offered the free dinning to everyone and to include more dates. The big catch now is if you stay at the Value Resorts then you only get 2 counter service meals unless you pay an extra $10.00 per adult for the regular plan. Still a good deal for some but really there are better deals out there now. For us in the future we will be forced to pay more for less and for those who know me know I like to get the best deal possible so next year it looks like we'll be staying off site more. Dave I hope you have a safe but very magical trip.
DaveStroem
Thanks Jesse. I still feel that this is a great deal. It depends on how many people you are putting into the value room. Our plan was booked in the late spring so it is the regular dining plan, not the counter service one. At $92 a night including tax, and 4 of us in the room, it is cheaper then just getting the DP by itself. Many of the dinner meals on our last trip would have been over the cost of the DP just by them self. MMMMMM Le Cellier Cheese soup with pretzel bread followed by a Fillet Mignon over mushroom risotto with Maple Creme Brulee for dessert.
