Somewhere out there, in closets or attics, Nate Byrum figures folks have old home movies or videotapes of Kings Island's earliest attractions.

Byrum, a CET director, wants the footage for his Kings Island documentary, "Riding History to the Limits," which can be previewed in nine segments at www.CETconnect.org. "Photographs are nice, but we would like to see footage the most," says Byrum, 33, an 11-year CET employee.

His long list of lost attractions includes rides from the old Hanna-Barbera children's section (Bedrock Bumpers, Smurfs Enchanted Voyage; Sky Ride); Oktoberfest area (Bavarian Beetle, Der Keggers spinning barrels, the Rotor, Flying Dutchman); Old West characters "attacking" the train ride; and antique cars, Animal Safari or the porpoise show.

Anyone with old video or movies should e-mail Byrum at kingsisland@cetconnect.org. You should describe the material, and provide your name and phone number, he says. CET can convert old VHS tapes and home movies, if necessary.

The documentary will air on CET upon completion, probably early next year before the park opens....
